Not all watch bands are adjustable. If yours is, you will see the links are connected with tiny pins. Any store that sells watches will have the tool to remove links. Some watches require a special tool, those need to be adjusted at a store that sells that brand.

mcdevito75 here, Maybe a link or 2 can be reoved from the metal band, or an adjustment at the clasp can be done. Look for a small watch repair shop in your area, they can help.
On most brands, there are pins that form hinges for the links of strap. You need to push them out to remove links. Usually you would find arrows marked from inside of the metal bracelet which show you the direction in which to remove the pins. You can remove it if you have a small watch maker's screwdriver but you have to be careful. or get one of these .. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Watch-bracelet-link-adjuster-remover/dp/B001ZKIL2S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=watch&qid=1254695541&sr=8-1
which should help you to remove the link pins safely without scratching.
thank you for replying to my email about my new watch, i went to our local market watch repairer and he fixed the problem, for £4. I think it would be help full if you were to explain how to remove links in this type of strap in your manual you supplied with the watch so as not to make it difficult for customers to adjust it.Another problem on this watch is that the light switch does not light the watch face, so either the switch is faulty or the battery is low on power on this brand new watch,so please give me an idea on how to fix this problem without cost, thanking you for your help if at all possible. alan crimes on [email protected].
You need to push the pins out in the direction of the arrows. Then take out one link from each side. Put the pins back in the same way they came out, with the slot pointing the same direction as before.
Usually pushes through. but not sure.. I would use a pin head or nail head..
Not sure with this watch though...
