Ok this is not a easy fix. The replacement port connectors are easy to get and cheap $4-$10. How ever they require that you are able to take apart the tablet unsolder the old port and then solder in the new one.

There are several places that will do this as a service but it ain't cheap. One place shows $299 for board repairs.

If you search for "dell streak charging port repair service" you may find one closer or cheaper. It is possible that you can find a good board by searching for streak repair parts.

Make sure you know what replacement costs are for the unit. On some of these repairs you can come close to spending what you would for a new unit. So be careful about that.

Where exactly do you find these replacement ports for a Dell Streak 7?? I have someone who can repair it but so far have had no luck whatsoever in finding the part.

I just tried this fix on my Dell Streak 5 too - with success. The battery wasn't charging at all and I thought I would have to chuck it. Used a small knife between the metal case of the jack and the plastic bit holding the pins and eased them apart, moving the plastic parts closer together. Carefully put the lead back in and back to full working order.
Thank you very much.

Found this solution in the Dell Forum. Tried it, and it WORKED. Took all of 30 seconds. All you need is a push pin.

Posted by ScooterX replied on 13 Apr 2012 12:03 PMI was having the same problem. Plugging in my Streak 7, but it wasn't charging... Tested out the power supply, and it was good (plugged my cellphone cable into the brick - worked fine). After a bit of looking on the forums and not finding much useful, I went after what some of the postings hinted at... the connector.
So I looked closely at the plug-in on the Streak chassis and the cable. The cable plug has a single blade in the middle with power contact & probably data contacts that is surrounded by a metal shield.
The plug-in port on the streak is kind of a U-shaped dual-blade with corresponding contact facing to the middle... The design is for everything to dove-tail together when plugged in. The cable's power bladed in the middle, the Streak data-blades hugging up to the cable blade, then the metal shroud on the cable helps snug it all together.
On closer inspection, I found that the U-shaped blades in the streak had gotten pushed wider and the cable shroud was going to the inside and covering the contacts in the Streak.
I used a pushpin and tried to "close up the U" by gently moving the two blades in the streak towards each other to make room for the metal shroud to go around the outside. I also tried to open up the shroud a little bit on the cable to help things fit together nicely.
Following the adjustments, I was able to gently ease the plug into the streak and it promptly started charging!!! Issue resolved. Kept my Streak from being a chewtoy for the dog...
Good Luck!!
Disclaimer: Do this at your own risk. Be gentle with manipulating the blades. Make sure the cable is not plugged into the charger. Your mileage may vary.

How do i delete pictures on the dell streak 7

Grant,
You can drag the photo to the top of the screen and drop it in the waste basket. The waste basket doesn't always appear until you start dragging the photo.
So, until you try dragging you don't see where the basket appears.

Hi, I'd like to get an UNLOCK CODE for my Dell Streak 7 . Please help, thank you very much really appreciated

Hello, first no one will give you free unlock code for your Dell Streak 7 except your network provider. You can ask directly to your network provider to get Dell Streak 7 Unlock Code, but you must prepare a good reason why you need that code otherwise you will get a charge aproximately $80 for that unlock code. The other way you can buy Dell unlock code from third party sites with cheaper cost rather than buy from official network provider. I hope my solution can solve your problem.
