Connected my HP PSC 950 to a vista PC. It prints a test page, but to scan it ask to install the software CD. After Inserting the CD it shows. HP System Check has determined that your system does not match the requirements specified on the box. The following items do not meet the minimum requirements: Your operating system does not match the supported operating systems or service packs. "Quit" I know it is not speed or memory, so I believe it is the operation system. Question: Do I need new software, what and where, or is the problem somewhere else. Thanks Peter
I have a similar problem. The hp psc 950 will not scan. When I try to load the software the message appears:
”HP System Check has determined that your system does not match the requirements specified on the box.

Do you have a HP 950 printer and want to know how to print a test page ? or are you using a HP 950 Cartridge in your printer and want to know how to print a test page ?
Vista requires a plug-n-play software, that can be downloaded from HP's website. Go to HP.com, support, enter model number and choose operating system (Vista). The page will allow you to download, free, the plug and play software.
* Note: Vista sometimes allows you to just plug the printer in and it automatically installs the plug n play (without software). You can try this also.
The problem must be a simple one. It shuld be due to installation of wrong driver. You can please goto HP PSC 950 support page in HP website and download latest driver for both scanner and printer and try it out. I feel like your problem will be resolved.
Unfortunately, no. The whole Vista migration issue is a raging debate. The only work around that might work, is to set up something like an E Fax account, and send it to yourself, and then print it from the web interface. Ugly, but might be the only way now.
