Line in recording procedure

I need more instruction on how to record to my Creative Zen V Plus using the line in recording option. I tried the other day and the zen kept saying that the recording was done. I then wasnt able to find to listen to on my zen. The Creative Lab website has no information on how to use this feature. Please post a manuel for using this feature plus any tips and tricks.

thanks

I cant really offer a definitive solution. I just starting playing with my zen and finally figured out how to use the line in recording feature. I also realized that i needed an adapter to plug in the zen to my stereo; luckily my husband has two. I have read how to delete the recordings. I havent tried to use it as of yet; but if i have any trouble i will contact you back. thanks again, new to zen

I want to record with the line in facilty on my cd player...how?

Hello,

For audio transfers on the Zen V Plus use:
1. A fitting stereo cable between the audio soundcard of the computer (Line Out) and the player (Line In).
2. Organizer software on the computer.
All support for the Zen V Plus is on next site:
http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=213&CatName=MP3+Players&subCatID=214&subCatName=ZEN&prodID=15306&prodName=ZEN+V+Plus&bTopTwenty=1&VARSET=prodfaq:PRODFAQ_15306,VARSET=CategoryID:213
When not having the Organizer software on the computer, get a download from the support page above and perform an installation.

For how to record, you can go directly to next flash demo link for audio recording:
http://www.creative.com/products/mp3/howto/show_flash.asp?filename=daytoday/ConvertAudioFormats_Demo.swf
Use the functions in the Organizer page below for the demo playback.
The easiest way to run the tutorial is when using the slider for a step by step demo 1/24 to 24/24 next to the Rewind function.

If this was helpful or when needing more help, I'd appreciate your comment.

Mp3 players stuck on line in recording

I had the same problem. I opened my zen V plus and noticed that the recording switch did not have the proper tactile feedback, which means the spring is somehow jammed and the contact blade can open or close the contact randomly. I scratched away the top half of the plastic casing (which was abnormally soft) and removed with a tweezer the tiny blade that closes the contact. I refit the whole thing back together and it works fine. Obviously the voice recording function is gone, but personally, I don't care...ht tactile feedback (spring not working properly. So I decided

Intructions for recording Mic or Line In and SAVING to PC

Hi

Recording is quite easy:

1. To record from the Mic, simply press the button on the side of the player with the red dot and speak into the mic - its the small hole at the top left of the player.

2. To record line-in: connect the small mini stereo jack to the player and the other end to the line or headphone output of a recording device. Use the menu to find 'line in recording' (its towards the bottom of the menu). Monitor the input signal and adjust its level using the VU meters on the V Plus. Using the volume control on your player device, ensure that the signal is not too loud so that it clips, nor too soft (it will be noisy). When ready, press the red dot button. Press it again to stop recording.

3. To find the recordings and transfer files to PC: using the Zen Explorer, find the folder 'Recordings' on the Zen. Your recordings will be stored there with file names such as "Line In {date, time}.wma". Simply copy and paste these files onto your PC and play them with Winamp or Windows Media Player. Note that they are in WMA format, not MP3 format, but that this is a better standard than MP3 and can be played on most MP3 players.

Hope this has helped, and now can someone help me - my Zen V Plus screen is dead, and I didnt' even drop it.

Can delete recordings

Try using the installed software to delete first. If that fails, use Windows Media Player. If that fails,
Possible firmware upgrade issue.
Reset first - located on side of player. If that fails, Creative actually has a step by step tool you can use at:
