Go to http://partstore.com MCM has a tendancy to use OEM parts. That means inexpensive chineese or Korean parts . You want to uses the Japaneese parts. There is a differance! PS Dont forget to rate this.

Colored lines at top and bottom when tv comes on and seeing double vision in different colors at all times

If your tv is not a DLP the problem is in the convergence, try to adjust it using your original remote control go to the setting menu then to the convergence section. Adjust the red and blue convergence. you should move the red and the blue in up, down and left, right if this color does not move far enough your convergence IC is already defective. Replacing this convergence IC will solve the problem. In locating this convergence IC you should remove the back cover of your unit but be sure to unplug it before doing this. This convergence IC is attached to a large aluminum plate, it is the heat sink, and it has a marking of stk- ### followed by numbers. You can try to pull it out using a soldering iron and soldering pump but be careful you may damage the board and cause much problem to your unit. Or you can contact a technician to do it for you and save you from stress good day and best regards.

Having i think convegence board problems with my phillips model # 60pp9202/17F called tv repair guy said it was my convergence ..colors are alll orange and bottom of picture kinda bubbles up can i replace...

Replacing the convergence board will require a complete convergence adjustment. A better solution would be the replacing of the defective convergence IC. This would retain the convergence settings for the set. I'll locate the part numbers and costs and update this later.

I have a HCL473W with a 'concave' screen effect on 2 colors??

You don't need to replace the whole board, regardless of which board it may be mounted on. The STK IC convergence chips alone are all that need to be replaced. You can order them from a number of different online sites. You can try Alibaba.com. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Panasonic PT-51HX42F turns on, no picture and led light blinks three times

Your symptom sounds like a damaged convergence IC.

This is a common failure for this particular television. The power light is blinking indicate a short in the power supply,

There are two and large IC’s that control the convergence in a big screen set. Some of the newer sets only have one. They are secured to a very large aluminum heat sink. They will have a part number stamped on them that will start with an STKXXX-XXX, like STK392-110, and they are located on the signal board (on the left as you look into the back of the set).

Along with the convergence IC’s there will also be some associated components that will need to be replaced as well. There are some resistors that are part of the convergence circuit that will be open and need to be replaced. Most likely these will appear charred in the center. If you have an Ohm Meter or a DVM, check all the resistors that are close to the IC’s and you should be looking for either ones that have opened or have changed values.
There are also two resistors on the front of the board located in the middle that are fusible link resistors, these should be checked for opens and replaced if they are found so.

If one of the convergence IC’s are found to be bad, I would replace them both, if one has gone bad the other may go soon. I usually order my parts from Andrews Electronics in California, they will have the OEM components that you will need.
Their site is http://www.andrewselectronics.com/welcome.aspx
And their phone number is a 24-Hour Order Desk: (800) 274-4666
I recommend the phone order so you can talk to the person about the different types of IC’s that are available.

I would also advise that the convergence IC’s be OEM or better, just because they are cheap does not mean that they are a good deal. I have seen the cheap IC’s fail after a short time, even though they look exactly like the OEM IC’s. I think that the bottom line is that you will get what you pay for when it comes to the parts.

You can also try http://www.tvrepairkits.com/ , I have not tried them yet, but they do carry OEM or better parts.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
If you need further assistance please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

Panasonic 1080i

Try adjusting the convergence. If it won't move see below- (or hitting Magic Focus for some Hitachi’s)

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

I would suggest that you contact a service center in your area for a complete diagnosis and repair, as this type of repair can get a little tricky. But if you want to repair the set yourself, just remember to be careful. The capacitors and CRT’s can hold a charge and may shock you.

HC-P4752W - IC Replacement vs Convergence Module.

The colors weren't lining up correctly on my HC-P4752W which is only about 30 months old. I did a little bit of research and got ahold of the people at http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ They recommended replacing the IC's as well as the IC resistors. I purchased the replacement parts from their site and made the repairs myself. I should mention that I didn't have any previous soldering experience. The repair was easy and a complete success. You may find replacement parts elsewhere for slightly cheaper but what you won't find is the prompt and detailed customer service that they provide. They gave me there # and said to call if I had any questions before or during repair. I took advantage of their services and got answers every time I called.

Sony KP-57WS500 57 in.

Oh no it is less expensive to repair the printed circuit boards. You should buy only the IC,s that sony recomends you to buy. They will cost you more then a replacement IC will but they are not all alike even if they have the same numbers on them. Go to http://www.partstore.com and enter your model number and look for the STK IC. Don't forget to get some heatsink compound to install on the back of the new IC's before you reinstall them.. Remember to always double or triple check your work and make sure you have no solder bridges or shorts on the board. If you need a copy of the service manual, post your e-mail addy and I will send you one thru Pando. Pando is available online at www.pando.com for a free download. Pando lets you send large files via e-mail and the Sony manual is large. Good Luck
