I unintentionally recorded something on my Axim when I first got it and I can't seem to delete the recording by clicking on the file in the File Explorer window and choosing delete. It gives me a sharing violation error and won't get rid of it.
You can try this, as I have an Axim X-50V. Make sure that all of your programs are actually shut down. When you close something on the axim it really just goes to standby for the next time you open it. If the program is open that accesses the file, it wont let you delete it, because it is in use. More importantly, go to this site www.aximsite.com and the people there can answer ANY question you may have, and in great detail. Honestly, people there know so much about the axim line that Dell's phone support techs have referred people to use it!

From the menu screen. navigate down to recordings.
Select view Playlist to the left of the list of recordings.
From the playlist screen, select the show you would like to delete and press the corresponding button to delete. Read carefully as you risk deleting all episodes in the group for the show. If you have multiple episodes for a show recorded, you will risk deleting all.
You will have to "Find space" by deleting something/anything to make "space" for "New" material. Basically it is trying to tell you the drive is filled up and ya need to either delete or cut & paste away to some other media, some data, to get more space to record more stuff. OK?
Although you have deleted the recording the DVD recorder still sees that space as have been being used. The space should be reusable however the area has been used before (therefore not considered unused space).
By deleting the recording you should have no problem going over the area when it is needed.
As far as I know the only way to manage music on Sansa is via your computer. Plug in, go to my computer, click on the drive it comes up under and select the music folder. Edit the song list as you like just like you would any old file.

TiVO also plans for other upcoming shows in total recording time. So if you 12 hours recorded, and another 20 or so hours scheduled in upcoming all as don't delete, then it won't allow additonal shows manually
