When I turn on the MP3 player, there is a knocking noise and a sad face is displayed on the screen. I not able to listen to play stored music or the radio.
This MP3 is less than 2 years old. Please indicate where I should send it for repair.

That means as the manual says " Boot Failure "...
Now the home website "which isn't working anymore" suggests that you contact support.
They would recommend you a firmware update, me to will do same.

okay i had the same mp3 but the problem was the charger.. not the mp3... so i got a new charger.. and try to even get one for the wall instead the computer.. because they cost about the same and the one for the computer is not all the great in quality.
You can try going into iPod Diagnostics
Just click and hold on the Home and Center button at the same time until the screen turns black, then click and hold on the Center button and the Rewind button (Left button) until something different than a iPod display comes out.
