Change the sealing ring around the drum on the dorr side. Laundry comes between the seal and the drum

There is a Felt Gasket on the inside of the door inbetween the drum and housing this has probably worn away resulting in black marks...easy to purchase replacment..harder to fit!!! Lee Caleb leeds Uk

My dryer sounds like there are metal balls rolling around inside when clothes are drying

Sounds like the rollers are worn out. If they are fine then see if the dryer has glides on the drum.

Leaves black marks clothes

Are we talking tumble dryers here as it's been posted under the 'washing machine' section?
Anyway all depending on what type of dryer you have, normal vented one (with outlet hose that you stick out of the window) or a condenser dryer? Get back to me I may be able to help you with this ok, cheers, Ken.

Maytag dryer is leaving black marks or rings on clothes

If your clothes get marked or torn in your dryer, check these: Rollers Rear seal Front glides Front seal Rollers Your dryer may use rollers, or wheels, to support the rear of the clothes drum. When these are worn out, they may cause the clothes drum to drop down slightly, which can pinch the clothes between the top of the clothes drum and the rear of the dryer interior. When the rollers wear out, you need to replace the whole set. Rear seal Your dryer may have a felt-like seal at the rear of the drum. If this seal is worn, torn, or missing, clothes can get caught and torn in the space between the clothes drum and the rear of the dryer interior. When the rear seal wears out, you need to replace it. Front glides Your dryer probably uses nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn out, they may cause the clothes drum to drop down slightly, which can pinch the clothes between the top of the clothes drum and the front of the dryer interior. When the glides wear out, you need to replace them as a set. Front seal Many dryers have a felt-like seal at the front of the drum. If this seal is worn, torn, or missing, the clothes in the dryer may get caught and torn in the space between the clothes drum and the front of the dryer interior. When the seal wears out, you need to replace it.

How to clean black marks left in dryer from shoes

I had used a little nail polish remover on the marks when this happen. Then I wiped it out with a cloth after I was through doing the dishes ( had dish detergent on it) and a rinse cloth and dried. I then always let the shoes/boots air dry or you could put them in a pillow case to dry. Good Luck!
(You should have seen the mess I had with a melted blue crayon one day!) Got that out too-but it took me a while.

The dryer is squealing and leaving burn marks on the clothes

Squeak is caused by a worn out roller rolling metal to metal - Most dryers have rollers, felts and drum slides to balance drum rotation:
When rollers wear off, black powder leaks to rear felts and black marks are left on clothes.
Same thing happens when drum slides wear off (black marks are left on clothes)
