The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Picasa or any other photo cataloging program.

Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!

SOURCE: broken Lcd panel

Broken LCD screen is quite easy to replace on the FE-170 and FE-210. I have purchased cameras with bad lens but good LCDs on ebay pretty cheaply( compared to having Olympus repair camera).

The Olympus FE-170 does have audio capability, I have recorded many movies with sound using my Olympus FE-170...

But I am now having the same problem, all of a sudden, without any warning, audio ceased to work.

It really sucks, I took some great footage from a music festival, all soundless, what's the point?

Anybody actually got a solution for this; is there anything we can do to re-enable the audio capability for the Olympus FE-170?

Fe 170 olympus

To check pictures taken look for 'Review' button.
Your camera should show a camera logo/icon for
still pics and a video logo/icon for videos.
Check your manual.
