Question about Panasonic PV-DM2799 27 in. TV/VCR/DVD Combo
When I tried to watch TV just a few days ago, I was greeted with this problem. When on the TV setting, there is no picture and no sound. When I change the channel (I'm on cable), there is none of the usual static or snow. The TV displays "TV" and the channel on the screen. Same problem in DVD and FM mode. It displays all the normal stuff on the screen. With a tape, it plays, a picture shows up and is normal, but the volume won't change. I've tried turning the TV on and off in TV, DVD and FM mode, unplugged it, tried playing different DVD's and CD's, unplugging the cable box, unplugging the TV from the cable box...I think I've tried all the various ways anything could be plugged or unplugged, powered up and powered down. Nothing is connected to the TV besides the cable box. Any ideas?

It sounds to me without knowing the model or type unit that you may need to unplug tv AND take batteries out of remote for a few seconds, replug and start over. Hope it helps

How many sets RCA ports (for Video 1 / Video 2 so on and on) does your TV have?

If it was a setting on the television, then the cable info would also be affected. Try a reset on your cable box, as the cable info is generated within the box from the data stream, whereas the picture is streamed from the provider.
If the reset doesn't work, it's time to call the cable company - it's not a fault with your telly.

SOURCE: No sound from built-in DVD player on TV?
It sounds like the audio cable from the DVD drive may be loose or damaged. Did you wall mount the TV and this is when the problem started or has it always been like this? If its under warranty, contact the helpline on 0871 2000 463, be warned, if its becuase the cable is damaged by a wall mounting screw, its clearly evident and they will charge for repair.
