LG BD670 won't boot after firmware update

its a firm error ,you need to update the firmware their are videos on youtube on how to do it

Will it connect to computer to put into download mode?
Did you check battery?

A lot of times if you try different buttons it may go into another mode. From experience I had this happen to me with different phones.


Lg should have desktop software.like Samsung to reload firmware software. Download the app and see if this works it should reload the FIrmware not sure..if you have problems I will look into it hope this help.

In in your research look for restore firmware.

Boot your LG device into Download Mode:

• Power off your LG device.
• Press and hold Volume Up button.
• Connect your device to PC with a USB cable while holding the Volume Up button.
• You'll boot into download mode with "Firmware Update" written on top of the screen.

It is the top of the dvd players "clutch" plastic wheel. There are gray rubber snubbers in a captured plastic wheel that disintegrates. Covered under warranty, but part number MKC 66030401 from electronics repair company such as Andrews Electronics at $19+sh. It is a very simple fix, remove cover,3 screws on back, lift off and 4 screws hold dvd on main frame. Carefully remove ears and lift off top of dvd, replace with new part. Good luck.

Can you see any display from the screen? if its a new hard drive, with no Operating System the it show anything at all, try to insert a boot cd and boot from the cd

i had the exact same problem happen to my BD670. Playing around, went to settings > Software Information. When clicked, the player did nothing for few minutes (hung) and then shut itself. the next time i started the device and attempted to access my drives/premium all worked as normal.

Firmware update might be sucessfull. Contact the nearest authorised service center for LG.

I had the same problem with my LG bd670 blu ray. I fixed it. It was a failed firmware update. I went to the LG website and downloaded the update and copied it onto a flash drive. I unplugged my blu ray (hdmi cable too), put the flash drive into the usb port on front, and plugged in the power cord. It took a couple of minutes but it loaded the update from the flash drive and shut off. I plugged the in hdmi cable and turned on the blu ray and done. All was well in the world again. You can download any available ODD (Optical Disc Drive) updates from http://us.lgservice.com. Click Product Support, click Optical, choose your model number from the list, and click go. Click the Drivers & Software tab. Download the latest version posted (highest number).

The firmware for all recent drives works with Windows. Before running the update, make sure the drive is empty. Close as many programs running the background as you can. Run the downloaded executable file to start the update. Some will automatically start updating the dive and some will require you to push "Upgrade" or "Start". If the firmware doesn't see the drive it was designed for, it will not install.

WARNING: Never update the firmware if the problem you're having is the drive isn't seen by windows, won't write with the included software, or other interface related problems. Unless the firmware specifically states it fixes the problem you are having, firmware updates normally don't fix these types of problems. Trying to update the firmware when there are interface problems can damage the drive's firmware. An error when updating the firmware is usually caused by a problem with the drive interface or there is more than one drive connected to that IDE channel.

Maybe ur phone battery is down. Charge the battery through another's phone and try to install firmware again.
If ur phone is still not detected by comp. maybe boot data of phone is corrupt
Then the last option is to replace hardware.
