Recently i changed the housing on my razr and i put everything back the way it was (at least i believe i did) but now the phone doesn't know that it's closed when i close it. The outer screen continues to show the logo. Not to mention that it makes it so that all the outer buttons are still functioning so anything that touches the phone makes it make noises and stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
There is a magnet on the upper part that has to be sensed by a sensor on the lower part. If the phone is open, the magnet is located on the bottom right hand side of the upper part. The sensor is located above the right soft key.
To fix mine...close the phone...I opened the battery door, above the battery on the left side is the back of the sensor... it did not appear to be glued to the housing...very gently push the sensor in... it should feel the magnet and the front screen should come on... at least it did on mine... good Luck
There is a little magnet in the inner half of the flip, below the screen. it is on the right side if you are looking at the phone as you would normally use it. I hope you kept the old housing...
It could be the battery. Or just the phone. Same thing happened to me actually. After about a week of it happening, it started to work properly again. But just in case, you might want to get it looked at or just get a new battery. Your provider should be more than happy to send you a new phone if it doesn't work.

Sounds like the phone is defective..Contact your cell phone provider to see if they are willing to replace it for you...I believe most company gives you one year warranty for the phone...
Hope that helps

There's a tiny magnet in the top of the flip, near the hinge.. try taking a small magnet and hold it over the keypad near the hinge, and see if it doesn't think it's closed, if that magnet didn't get put back in the flip, then the phone won't know it's closed.
I dropped my in the bath tub giving my little girl a bath. I pulled the back cover and battery out and sat it upside down, back faceing up, under a lap and turned it over every hour. The next morning put the battery in and closed it up, no problems - till the next time it went swimming and had to repete the process.
Try opening up the back then take out the battery make sure there isn't any dust or anything foreign inside near the battery connections. Put the battery back in, close up the back. Turn phone back on.
I have been buying and repairing razrs for a month now and know how to do this well first of all you will need a t6 screwdriver to take out the 4 screws then you need to seperate the housing with a credit card or somthing thin it may be a little tight but dont worry about it breaking it will come off some have two little flex cables connected and some have one check yours and disconnect then carfully pull your lcd out and put your new one in.
in the top right corner you are suppose to have a little circular magnet that changes the screen when the phone is open or closed. I just changed my housing yesterday and took the magnet out and put it in my new housing but for some reason i have the same problem as you. so maybe you lost the magnet when you replaced the lcd and if that is the case then you are screwed. try have Motorola fix it, don't tell them you replaced the lcd
So you called it and left it a messege? And then went back in a deleted it? If that doesnt work, take out the battery and leave it out for a bit and put it back in.
