Question about Toshiba 43H70 43" Rear Projection Television

Tv crashes hi, my toshiba 43" tv keeps crashing/locking up and the only way to fix it is to turn it off for 1/2 an hour or so. ive been told it is probably the text board which i understand is a plugin module, so i can replace that ive also been told if i remove it , the problem should be solved(though ill have no text)....but how can i identify it?

Please gives a description of how the tv locks up?...like... You can not change the channels you can not increase or decrease the volume with or without remote you can not bring up the menu or get rid of it You are correct if you remove this board you will loose the text and maybe more. You might get a different posibble reason. Please post it as a new question

Toshiba lcd ant cable problems


1) you must repair the ant cable, see if the cable is open or break test with VOM, this can produce erratic problem.
2) you have the options to go to the repair shop TV for fix.
3) clean the contacts antenna TV, for dust, dirty or oxide.
4) repair any broken wires and solder.
5) of course you have the probably problem of some problem inside of TV example, TUNER, i-f,video detector, AGC. test it see the diagram

Toshiba 43" Rear Projection tv (Just show's Blue Screen)


Hi Chris,
It sounds like you have a tuner problem. Usally the set will turn blue if there is no signal to the set, which is first generated from the tuner. It could also be the processor on the main board, but I would look at the tuner first.

Toshiba 43 inch projection set


Possible bad solder connections in convergence circuit or vertical deflection circuit. This happens in alot of equipment. After warm up, expansion of joint pulls connections loose. Recommend not running like this, could cause component failure.

Lockup/crashes


There is no part in this set called a text board. I suspect the person that gave you this information meant the wow board. it is a plug in board that is near the far right of the chassis as you face the back and is about 2" by 4". if you remove this board the and it is the cause of the problem the set will work but will have no sound.
