Sorry, I couldn't find any models like mine.
Turned the TV on, the picture was on ok, went away for a few minutes and when came back TV was in "stand by" and there was a burning smell from inside. Brought it back on, but no picture at all but has a white background with lots of horizental lines. The sound is ok. I am worried if the tuble has gone. (I know nothing about electronics by the way).

Re: Vestel - 5555M TXT - Sound ok but no picture.
The fact that you smell something burning tell Us a part is cooked, sometimes is easier to find them because you can see they are degraded, this things happen for no reason but I dont think is the picture tubes that went bad,by the description it might be something simple,if the picture quality was good before is likely worth repairing it.The repair will involve removing the defective part and then soldering in the new one,be safe and call for assistance from a servicer at least for an estimate.

the problem may be in the heater supply, there are 3 picture tubes in projection tv. remove the back cover, switch on the tv & observe the heaters are glowing inside picture tubes. if not unplug the tv wait for 2 minutes, & trace the picture tubes' heater wires. there may be dry solders in heater power supply.
I had a TV like that and it did the same thing. There are three Rear Projection lights in the back..once they are done so is the rest of the TV. I had a tech look at mine and they don't fix them anymore. Sorry.
Your color wheel needs to be changed. Mine just did the same thing. I changed mine, and the buzzing sound went away, however now my picture washes out with light or yellow colors. The darks look green and purple also.
Jar-Head, bad news, the picture tube has a mild short in the green cathode, tech can come out and try to restore it but it`s usually a futile attempt on sony tubes, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, BMW Rider
check the main fuse inside the chasis, if burt start to replace it , if it goes again, check for primery fuse,
if the main fuse is ok, check for the secondary fused or dead short, check the horizontal transistor to make shure it's not shorted.
