Question about Singer 2662

1 Answer

Skipped stitches, but only certain spots

Hi, i have a problem with my Singer 2662. It sews just fine until I get to thicker parts of whatever i'm sewing (more than 2 or 3 layers of fabric), then it starts skipping. I have adjusted the tension, changed the needle, gone really REALLY slow over the area, you name it....I can't figure it out! Please help!

Maybe wrong kind of needle; universal usually works for all, but not always, ball point for knits and sharp for woven.

My bobbin case will not stay in place, every time I sew it moves then gets caught under the needle..help!!

I was having some problems with mine and I changed to a metal bobbin size SA156 and have had no more problems. I bought them on ebay, 20 for $8.99 and free shipping. They are a Brother number but are the same size as 15j and work great, no more skipped stitches or anything, You may find them locally to at least try them. Whoever sells Brother machines should have them, just make sure that it is a SA156. I hate the plastic bobbins, they always give me grief. Good luck, I hope that it helps.

Hello I have the same problem with my 2662 and all the other different stitches too. I'm just able to do the straight stitches. What's wrong with this model?

What do you have your width set for? How wide do you want to go? Read your manual and you will see the problem. If, by chance, it still does not work, call Singer at 1-800-4singer
