Battery Drains My camera has recently started draining the battery. After about 10 pictures the battery is dead. We have tried other batteries with the same results. Has anyone heard of this problem before? The camera is not under warranty and the local Wolf Camera wants a minimum of $225 to send it off plus parts. Thanks.

Be sure to charge your battery at least 15 hours to get the full power out of it. The charger light doesn't always indicate the full charge. Shop around the internet for independent repair shops. Our general repair charge is half the price you mentioned.

The battery is dead but I need to upload photos and I don't have the charger. When I plug it into the computer it turns on but it won't let me get my photos and says battery is exhausted.

The S210 doesn't charge via via the USB. In fact, connecting via the USB actually drains the battery faster. If you want to upload your pictures, you either have to charge the battery or take the memory card out of the camera and put it into a card reader connected to the computer.

Does the same symptom happen with alkaline batteries?
Lithium Ion batteries are 1.2volts
Alkaline are are 1.5volts
Rechargeable Alkaline batteries are 1.5volts

Perhaps you should switch to Rechargeable Alkaline batteries if the symptom goes away when you use alkaline batts...

S2 suddenly draining batteries rapidly

I have the same exact problem. I just now read a possible solution: try opening the battery compartment door and then closing it again to "trick" the camera into thinking it just got new batteries. There is definitely something wrong with the way the camera senses dead batteries.
