The drum in our Hotpoint Aquaries Washer/Dryer seems to have come loose. It makes a very loud noise when spinning fast and is making the whole machine move out of its space.

Loud nocking noise in spin cycle?

DRYER MAKES NOISES.

A loose or worn BELT can make funny noises
Or the idler pulley that puts tension on the dryer drum drive belt could be worn out. If the pulley is bad we recommend also replacing the belt.

The glides on drum worn and making metal to metal contact.
The drum slides or glides support the front of the drum. As the drum rotates over the years, the glides wear out and then the dryer makes noise. Replace all of the glides as a set if they are worn out.

CHECK FOR LOOSE BELLOES inside the drum

Sometimes an item can get stuck inbetween the drum and the housing and scrape and grind making funny noises, things like coins, bra wire, nails, hair pins, etc sometimes u can just remove the cabinet and observe by turning the drum by hand or looking for scratch or scrape marks on housing.

The blower:

Clumps of lint, socks, and other small articles of clothing can get past the lint filter and into the blower wheel. If the dryer makes noise, and the noise seems to be at a very fast pace, there might be something caught in the blower wheel. In addition, the blower wheel sleeve might be worn out, allowing the blower wheel to wobble on the motor shaft. If this happens, replace the blower wheel.

The bearings:
The drum bearing supports the rear of the dryer drum. If the dryer makes noise this bearing might be worn out. Replace the bearing if it is worn out. Do not lubricate the bearing, the lubrication will attract lint and dirt and accelerate the wearing process.
The bearings TEST by moving drum by hand u may be able to feel loose or rough movement. And listen to sounds when turning it.

The drum rollers or castors:

It is very common for dryer drum rollers to wear out. If the dryer makes noise, particularly a loud rumbling noise, one or more of the rollers may be worn out. After removing the drum from the dryer, inspect the rollers.
Check for cracks, dryness, or damage and not engaging drum properly. Sometimes u can use high density LITHIUM BASE gear grease to re oil/grease them.

Hotpoint aquaries wf321 is making a loud clicking/knocking noise when its in the spin cycle, to me sounds like a poss bearing gone or maybe something is caught up?

From the front of the washer, spin the drum by hand, if it feels rough or is noisy or rumbling, then the drum bearings have failed.
It is possible that there is something caught between the inner and outer drum.

During the spin cycle the washing machine becomes VERY noisy, sounds like its off-balance, but happens EVERY time, even with very small loads. The whole unit doesn't move when it happens, just extremely...

During the spin cycle the drum moves at a higher RPM and so the counter weight of the clothes within can make the drum rotate eccentric or out of sync.
So check if the belt is loose on the motor, checck if the spindle is tight with friction or the drum assembly suspension is out of alignment.
You must check the reason with the following points to confirm the drum spinning making noise. check point of noise , is this on hitting the sides , or from the motor, any foreign objects or the drum spindle. But you are the judge with a first view. Use good lighting to look out and confirm the fault.

Our Hotpoint WF321 1200 spin is just 3 years old and now makes a very loud noise when in use - both for the washing and spin cycles. is the drum loose / off balance? any help appareciated

Remove lower rear cover of washer, remove drive belt, and from the front spin drum by hand, if it feels rough, or is rumbling, or noisy, then the main drum bearings are failing.
This is a major repair!!!.

Hotpoint wf740 aquarius 1400 v noisy banging during spin = dust

It could be a broken drum restraint spring, or a worn or broken. or loose shock absorber.
To check the springs, remove the top cover, and you will see the springs.
Another possibility is the concrete weight could be broken or loose.
You need to remove the lower rear panel of washer to check the shockers and concrete weight.

Thankyou.

One of the water sprays seems to be catching on the top of the drum when it is spinning causing a loud knocking when using the machine

If its drum noise then could be drum bearings gone/ also worth checking concrete weights to make sure not loose causing noise

Loud banging

Several possibilities for noise. check concrete balance wieghts at top and bottom of washer, make sure they are not loose.
Check drum restraint spring(s) are not broken.
Check suspension legs for wear.
Check for loose motor fixings.
Finally, remove drum belt, and spin drum by hand, tjhere should be noise from bearings, if it feels rough or is rumbling , then main bearings have failed.

Thanks.

Hotpoint WD 865- washes ok, dryer won't work makes loud popping

sounds like the dryer heater element has worked loose perhaps and shorted out against the metal dryer box which sits on top of the drum.
best to get an engineer out i'd say.

My Hotpoint washer dryer WD865 moves around the room making loud noises when on a fast spin? The internal drum seems more loose than normal?

I had the same problem. You can open the top lid (2 screws at the back and then lift) The weight which is on top is secured by three bolts, all three of them were loose so weight was going from one side to another which made a terrible noise. Tightened the bolts and noise was gone!
Dryer still not working though.....
