Question about Sony CCD-TRV238 Camcorder

Playback Hello everyone i am facing serious problem with my handycam sony dcr trv 285E. I simply cannot playback any cassette in my camcorder in the play/edit mode i tried cleaning the head but the result is the same. So pls someone help me. Everything else is working fine and all the indicators too.

    My camcorder goes blue screen. Do I need to take it to a repair shop?

If the camera is going on in the play mode and you are getting a blue screen with play indicator it is mostly due to dirty head. what have you used for cleaning the head. take the help of repairer for cleaning as he will do so after opening the cover. if that doesent solves the problem then get the video head checked for any damages such as broken tips.

How to fix choppy audio on Sony DCR-TRV 460 camcorder. Video is ok.
I had problems with playback on mine, and solved the problem by giving it a good tap on the hand strap side of the camcorder.

I think you face this digitizing problem in old recorded cassettes.
If yes, your camera needs little adjustments of tape guides. There will be one guide lose. In technical, we call it Tape path adjustment.

if all the indicators i.e. battery condition, play mark, counter, etc are visible on the screen then it can be a simple problem of dirty video head. try using a head cleaning cassette or do the head cleaning manually, Open the cover by removing three screws on the right hand side next to the viewfinder. Slide it little towards front and pick it up. The video head will be visible.

REINSERT CASSETTE MESSAGE ON Sony Handycam TRV138- Hi8 I have a TRV138, same as the 238 but only has mono sound, I keep on getting the "REINSERT CASSETTE" after a few seconds of playback or recording. I bought a Hi8 video head cleaner and cleaned the entire thing, but it still doesnt work. Someone posted a solution of "clean the pinch roller," I did this but it still doesnt work.
