First try a lens cleaning disc. If that does not help then take off the top cover, locate the little laser lens on the pickup assy. Take a damp cotton swab with alcohol. Litely in a swirling motion rub the top of the little lens, then turn over the swab and dry off the lens with the dry side. If that doesnt help, well im afraid its time to get a new player as to take it into the shop would most likly exceed the cost of a new one. Good Luck

My dvd player has just stopped playing disc's? I insert a disc, it loads up as the little circle comes up, saying loading. Then it says bad disc.It stops. Does anyone know what could be wrong here?

Couple things could be. I've found : the disc can be dirty, wipe it off. Or if its damaged the lens won't read it.
What usually helps the most is to put a lens cleaner in the player. they sell them. I only have a CD cleaner ( prob called lens cleaner). It still fixes it for me.

NO SOUND

Seems that your disc/cd reader which is in the DVD Player itself is damaged, try to move it a bit with your finger, blow some air out of your mouth at it and clean it again. If that didnt work, take it to protron shop and change the reader.
