Question about Televison & Video

My Philips LCD TV (26PF7321) is stuck in DTV mode, cannot access most menus, please help?

Hello, As stated above, my TV is stuck in DTV mode and I cannot select any other source. I cannot access any OS Menus except Volume Control, cannot change channels or anything else, just able to change volume and turn on/off - whether by remote or using the controls on the device. I do not own the original Remote control as I am using a universal remote. I tried resetting by unplugging for hours, but no change. I'd be much obliged to get any help with this problem. Sincerely, Dirk

I would contact Phillips customer service by phone and see if this a issue common to this set and if there is a way to either do a hard reset or a software upgrade to resolve this problem.

SOURCE: Controls not working on Philips 28" TV

We had this problem with a 28PW6515. The control would work for 30 seconds after switching on, then nothing. It was diagnosed as the "glue chip" which handles all the control functions. About £200 to fix it as it's a surface mount chip.

SOURCE: Philips model# 27PT31, only turns on manually, no remote

Hello laurenbro, Actually it does make sense if the command processor in the TV set is bad. a way to test this would be to see if the TV will manually turn off and on. If it can, than the problem may be in the command processor IC, also called the input data IC. You will have to take this set to a TV repair shop, and have the look at that section.

Philips 42pfl7762D-lcd blue screen, remote control

Hi! I have the probably same problem (since today) - all I know is that it is because the TV is set to digital instead of analogue, and it won't allow me to put it back into analogue mode - when I try that, i get the cross you mentioned. The strange thing is, that there are no menus visible at all. But the volume and screen output format buttons are workijng and show on the TV. Otherwise the screen is blue. Any solutions?

Samsung LE40R73BD DTV freezing, wont chnage channel

i've just some digging around and found that you can access a service menu and perform a reset which sorted the issue for me.

Access the service menu by pressing, in order, whilst the tv is in stand-by mode:

info
menu
mute
power

when the tv comes back on you will have a service menu; select option 12 (reset) the tv will then switch off.

this will reset your TV back to factory defaults.

turn tv back on and you should be prompted to go through the plug and play setup again - go through everything and then all should start working OK (it did for me)
