Zoom picture We bought the 32" yesterday and set it up last night, but we can only get the picture to be widesscreen, which is distorted wide, and the square view with a frame around the whole thing. How do we get the zoom picture to use the whole screen? Thank you so much!

Very little info you gave but go to the screen set up or format menu and switch around to the screen size that works for myou. Or best yet, go back to the store and ask for a little customer education. You see with out the instruction manual in front of me and the set here as well, this is a hard call. Im not at all trying to put you off, just quessing is not going to get you anywhere. Like I said the best thing to do is call customer service listed in the owners manual or go back to the store where you bought it, as maybe there is a problem with it?? Good luck

Picture too wide on tv

Sounds like you have the "Wide" mode set to Zoom or wide zoom. Also if you are on Comcast cable the cable box has a setting of Zoom and full. Set your TV's zoom setting to "Full" and the cable box to Full. I don't have an LG so you'll have to find these settings yourself..

Picture too big for screen; cutting off top of heads and bottom of screen

Go to the picture setup of your settings menu.
Somewhere in there are options for selecting picture size.
The options will be similar to: Normal, Wide, Zoom, Stretch
You have probably selected Zoom, try Normal.

I bought a 1600x900 monitor and now pictures are distorted

Your screen's ratio is oriented to playing wide screen formatted movies. Set your screen resolution to a ratio that's more or less 2 to 1 and you'll have a more realistic depiction of people on photos.

Cant see full picture w/ Vizio 32in HDTV

You would look for a format button on your remote.
Dish Network: bottom left the asterisk "*" button
DirecTV: top left, second from the top labelled "format"
Cable remote: look for format, zoom, or aspect ratio

Pressing this button should scroll you through the options.

Widening around the border of picture

I suggest you read your manual. You likely have the picture setting on Panorama or Wide setting, and your manual should explain that Wide Screen pictures are stretched at the sidea to fill the screen.

Cannot fill screen with normal picture size setting

assuming you all have comcast and using an hdmi cable
first access menu (hit it twice) and go to set picture format, choose passthrough....or in your case auto hdmi

then turn box off, press guide and info on the front of the box, proceed through the setup, advanced is more in depth..lol...

select 1080, 720, and then either the standard or widescreen 480s to your liking.....

voila....

now check your tv settings to accommodate
