Sound Drivers I would like to know where I can find sound card drivers for my son's Compaq Evo N180. I had to reinstall the OS on the computer. I installed Win2k. Thanks for your help. Greg

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound,video and game controllers you might see a yellow question/exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers if you dont have a disk with the drivers you can download the drivers

Go to this page and download the audio driver you need.
You will need to know which brand of CPU is in your computer. (AMD or Intel) as there are 2 different drivers....

Try downloading the drivers from the Compaq website or do a search useing the model number and the word "driver".Reinstalling the drivers and the computer would detect the card.

Its the problem with ur driver. If u got ur compaq cd u can find it there. right click my computer, properties and device manager..u can see sound card with yellow marks and from there u can install driver

try doing a microsoft update in custom mode and see if any hardware drivers are found, you may get lucky and it will do it for you, otherwise you need to find out what kind of sound card you have and then go to the manufacturers webpage and download their drivers and install them.

Go to the Compaq/HP WEB site and to their support/download page. www.compaq.com
Make sure you search for the driver for your model laptop and the correct Windows version of that audio driver

If you know the make and model of the Audio card,
You could go to the various manufacturer's WEB site to download the drivers
OR
Try www.driverguide.com
If you have not got Internet access then download the drivers from a friend's computer who has Internet access and copy them to your computer.
