Can not adjust the brightness of my screen. The brightness setting is all the way to the left (no brightness). If I lower contrast, the screen is still bright but the display disappears. Tried degauss with not results. What can I do?
I have an emachine 17" Flat Panel Monitor and I accidently touched the Standby Mode on my keyboard and now my menu won't work right. I can't adjust the color enough. If there is anything I can do to fix my problem it would be appreciated.

the driver board is bad in the monitor. Has it been in a place that is super hot like in a car? If the verticle driver chip disconnects from the matrix driver array, it will all squish into a single line in the middle of the screen like you are describing.. might try opening and blowing where the driver board connects to the LCD matrix (bunch of connectors on a plastic flat cable/bus connecting to the end of the LCD panel.. heating them could allow them to reconnect.. Its worth a try, right? It has worked for me about 60% time.
horizontal lines can be caused by either a faulty grapchics card or a faulty monitor. try adjusting the screen refresh rate. if you are using a windows xp system goto
