When i turn on my mp3 player, it says RCA, then Please Wait....., then it turns off. I have even tried putting in brand new batteries, but the same problem occurs. When I got my mp3 player back from my friend this started happening. She said she left it in her moms car while it was snowing. Could the cold have effecte dit? What should I do?

Did you try formatting it recently?
If yes, download the latest firmware and update it.
If no, give some more details. Does it have a HOLD/LOCK switch on the sides somewhere.
Pls check and let me know.
Ensure the key lock is not activated by sliding
"Power on/off ( )/Hold" towards the center
position. If your player isn’t already on, turn it on by
sliding "Power on/off ( )/Hold" to the left
and holding until the player turns on.
Try updating the player's firmware, you can download it from the RCA Website (http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/)
If your computer doesn't recognize the player, you'll have to turn it
off and keep "PLAY" pressed for 10 seconds while connecting it to the
USB port, then update the firmware.
