This is a screen with a media box. The box has two connections to the display panel. The first looks like a DVI connector. The second is the proprietory control port connection. This is how the set receives commands about brightness, contrast etc, scaling, aspect ratio. It might even control such basics as power on/off.
You could try the panel just with a DVI connection, but you will have to make sure that all sources are scaled to the panel's native resolution (1024x768) before they reach the screen. This is part of what the media box does. You might be okay if you're driving the panel direct from a PC graphics card. But if you want to run it with a variety of different sources then you really need to use the JVC media box.
The Media Receiver is the tuner/connector selector box.
If the top is removed the Media Box goes into shut down mode. It requires resetting by a Pioneer Authorised Service tool.
Take ur tv remote go to menu check the captioning functions turn all CC1,2,3 off and all txt off too.Yes,text functions is on,that why u getting a big black block flashing on ur screen.
Reboot all cables, satalites, and telicoms boxes.Like unplug, replug the box an hour later.Let the boxes up grade software,go to ur tv menu setup rescan all channels again well get them back.Ur signal not there after that, than ur Tuner Signal board is dead.Need it replaced.
CHECK UR POWERSETTING AND SLEEP TIMER SETTING......AND RE ADJUST IT IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS GO IN TOUCH WITH JVC SERVICE AND ASK THEM FOR ADVISE....OR THE STORE U BOUGHT THE SET FROM
Go back to analogue, press menu, find "Plug and Play" and follow the on screen instructions, it will redo everything back to when you first got it out of its box, its will tune analogue first, just let it search, next it will do the DTV, wait for it to finish and your done.
You probably have to find your original remote to the set and go through setup in your menu. On most sets, there will be a menu item which will allow you to switch from Cable mode to Air mode. If you have no Cable connected, then you must set tuner in Air mode.
If you are using an external device to run on channel three, then try this:
Make sure device (rather it's a vcr or game console), is hooked up to your Antenna Input connector. Also, some of these devices will have a small hidden switch on back that says 3 and 4. Move the switch to 3 position. Turn on device. Go into TV menu and do a Channel scan. This should auto program any device hooked up to the TV antenna input jack to channel three.
Keep in mind that you may not receive anything by Feburary of this year without an HD converter box to tune in channels with and outdoor antenna.
