RCA F32650 32'' TV Just stopped working and 3 months after warranty 3-yr warranty expired
I have an RCA model F32650, which stopped working - no sound or picture- exactly 3 months after the warranty. We purchased the TV 3 years ago. We had a tech person out who stated that it was a power supply and that it would cost $295 to $300+ to repair. First, I'd like to know if better to repair or buy another TV? Second if this is a defect in this model, I would be most interested in joining a class action law suit against RCA. Third, when I expressed to the repair person that I did not want to repair at that cost, he offered to take the TV in lieu of the service call fee, which was $45.00. I declined.

I received a RCA LCD, 32" Model# L32WD12, as a gift one year ago. The TV started shutting off by itself, and took forever to get back on. Now when you hit the power button manually or with remote I get no picture, no sound. Just a 3 red blinking lights. I was told by the RCA company, that since it was a gift and I have no receipt, and its past the one year warranty, I can purchase an out of warranty plan, and they will replace my TV. I won't be contacted for 3-4 business days with the cost of the plan. I'll probably be better off trashing this one and buying a new TV. I have noticed so many complaints all over the internet, about what a piece of **** RCA TV's are.

This is a very common problem with RCA tV sets. But unfortanatly, RCA is no longer made in this country or even owned by RCA anymore. They are a Canadian company called Thompson Corp and could not give two hoots about any problems with TV sets sold here in america. I say this from experience and try to contact them and file a complaint. ther customer service is rude and basicly calls us idiots! Alot of class action suits are pending or have been dropped as for the amount of sets they company have sold,They have attorneys working for them and delaying the cases. It is really the fault of the US Judges that are total morons about these things and try to go by un written laws. They dont have a clue as most of the US goverment does not. Your problem is not a power supply problem, But a high voltage transformer and a horizontal output transistor, and the reason why the estimate was so high, is because the tranformer is no longer available. Thats why the estimate is so high. Because who in there right mind would spend so much on a set as this. You can buy a 32" RCA(BUT I WOULD NOT BUY TRASH)At Wally World for less the $250.00 bucks! I no longer accept RCA TVs in for repair as replacement parts are so much money and im not proud to say I work on RCA TV sets. Total garbage sets!!

may be the panel, in which case it should be under warranty. This unit has a 1 yr mfr warranty , if less than 1 yr old it would be covered. contact servicer for service immediately before warranty expires
Like stated before--May be another bad blub, especially if you used a generic or Neolux one. A phillips bulb WILL work right. Mits sets do NOT like generic bulbs !!
I would take it back to the store and try a different brand. RCA is no longer made by Thomson and is now being outsourced mainly to China. You have already had two problems with the same model. Odds are if you find one that lasts longer it will last just long enough for the warranty to expire and die. I guess this really all depends on if it has been less than thirty days from the last exchange.
The remote interface of the TV died on mine, it was intermittent then it stopped completely. Remote control is fine, it's the remote sensor in the TV itself.
We have the same trouble! It is the power transformer. These models had faulty ones. Can you believe that this is the 2nd time we have had this problem? And our Beautiful RCA XBOX Entertainment Series TV's that is only 6 years old and there cousins all have these problems!!!! Our repairman (and good friend) told us that it would cost about $250 to fix. Of course he didn't recommend us doing this because the TV TUBES in these series are also very weak. He says that these Large Screen RCA TV's do not make it much past 5 to 7 years. So if you spend the money to have it fixed you will most likely be wasting your time and your money! Sure it will work for another year, but that is about all! It is far better do what we are doing and go out and buy a new TV. Our Repairman Friend spend a lot of time researching new Flat Screen TV's for good quality and longevity. He states that we all should look at buying a good solid brand like Panasonic if you are going with a 32 inch TV or smaller. A Sharp if you are going larger then 32 inch. Far Better Quality on these TV's and a lot longer life! He states that the other cheap ones that we see out there today already are having a lot of problems! You get what you pay for! These cheaper so-called bargains will have lots more problems in the months ahead and most will more then likely stop working all together in 2 to 4 years. So buyers beware of these great TV prices on these cheaper models! PLEASE do your homework and please listen to us and our repairman and you will not end up screwed like we were! Now we are stuck with an old RCA clunker which warranty expired after the first fix which was not done correctly! They came out and put a little solder and adjusted the Transformer instead of replacing. It was just enough to last another 6 months for the warranty to expire! Shame on you RCA! We then went out and bought one of these cheaper models and found that the quality is terrible! It already has problems and we are fighting to get them to honor the Warranty! Did I mention buyer beware? Something that looks and sounds too good to be true usually always is! Sorry for the long response! I just hope thise helps others!
