Question about Pentax Optio 50 Digital Camera

Black screen there is only black screen. every things is working but now when i shoot there is no sound from the shutter, and the shutter is not moving. i think the problem is with shutter. how can i fix this problem myself at home.

    I got the same problem. Just started like a week ago. The screen is black and any picture I take is also black.

    I also have black screen from yesterday. Everything is going well, but screen remains black, and pictures are black. I tried to reset everything without success.

    Camera turns on, but no LCD display. When you take a picture (using the view finder) there is nothing there but a black screen. The camera flashes and I can view other pictures on the screen.

    i have the same problem. when i take pictures the lcd remains black. everything is working but the display remains black, so the pictures when i display them on my pc. can an amateur like me fix the problem? can someone help? pleassseeee!!!!

Scrajmer, do know how shutter repair is done? I also have this problem and would be thankful if you can save us from an expensive repair..

woowww man i think youv got a lot probs with you camera,mainly if there is a a black frame in you screen i think your screen monitor is damaged so ull have to replace it...... and da black frames is a fault in da camera itself.according to wot i understand i think the shutter speed is not corresponding with da software in da camera um sorry but dese repairs are gonna cost ya.... best tin is to give it to a repair shop or service personnel for further clarification

The view finder or screen are black. The lens moves out when the camera is powered on, I can hear the shutter click when pushed; the telephoto is moving; I have all the settings show on the screen when...
I know it may sound like the shutter is moving, but you're going to have to actually look down the lens barrel to confirm it's actually moving, and not just producing a sound effect from the camera. Also keep in mind Canon's SX IS series cameras are notorious for the following problem (fantastic cameras otherwise).
A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

The screen just shows black, the lens works it flashes for pictures but all pics are black
Verify the shooting mode. Sound like you have underexposed images, maybe due to a too fast shutter speed or too small aperature...

My Canon PowerShot A620 has a black screen, any ideas on how I can fix this? I can't even take pictures, all of them come out black
My A620 JUST started doing the same exact thing last night. LCD works, lens works... but something possibly wrong w/the shutter so it won't open.. everything black.

Camera works but the screen went black A640 except for video and color swap. Did I press a button? I was shooting in cold weather.
Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

But if you've already tried this, have you also tried downloading any of your photos taken with the black screen to your computer? Are the photos also black? If so, you might instead be experieincing a stuck shutter (possibly due to the cold weather).

Shots coming out black or nearly black. I'm shooting in RAW. When I try and rescue them on photoshop they come out really grainy
Sounds like the shots are under exposed with the shutter speed to fast.
Are you shooting in low light and no flash ?

If so, reduce your shutter speed to something like 1/60 with an aperture of around F5.6 - F7.1 (these can be lowered if you raise your iso)

Obviously this will depend on the lens type and brand.

Your statement sounds like you are shooting in raw at a very fast shutter speed with a low iso (200).

The grainy effect is normally due to a lot of noise (high iso) which makes this sound strange to say the least.

Check your camera settings (menu) and turn on noise reducution, this will help in removing some of the noise.

hey man. Im not sure how new you are but basically i think your problem is you need to decrease the shutter speed to around 1/200-1/250 of a second and increase the apeture to around f10/12 and see if that works. If your operating at a high shutter speed on manual mode then you might not be letting enough light in to produce a clear image which is why your gettin a blank screen. Hope this helps :)

Photos have streaks
Sounds like you are shooting at shutter speeds of 1/30th of a second or slower, and/or your flash unit is set to "slow sync" or a similar mode. Try shooting in shutter priority or manual, and using a speed of at least 1/60th but not more than F4's sync speed of 1/250th. If you are shooting a moving subject, you may find that this "problem" actually creates some very interesting effects.
