Icemaker won't freeze - Samsung RS2578SH

Hello all, The icemaker on my Samsung (rs2578sh, about 2 years old) stopped freezing. What starnge (at least to me) is that the rest of the freezer works just fine. A top shelf (the one right under the icemaker) is a little wormer then the rest, but the rest of the shelves are nice and frozen. I've had this problem for about 3 days now. At the beginning, th temperature for the frezzer just started to blink on -2 and would not stop, changing the temperature would not resolve it. Samsubg support recommended unplugging the fridge and leave the doors open for 10 minutes to reset the system, i did just that, but problem still remains, however, not the temperature for the freezer reads 55... After leaving the frdge alone for the night, in morning all is still the same, temp - 55, icemaker not frozen, the rest of the fridge is frozen just fine... Please help!!!

I did, turned out it was the problem with the freezer drain. It was clogged. So the water would accumulate, freeze, then ice would accumulate until it would go up all the way half way up the coil. This would restrict air flow up to the top. At least that what i think. For about 2 years i would have to completely defrost the freezer to get it working again. This would have to be done about once in 3-4 mounth. Not until very recently i've decided to do some more tgroubleshooting and found out that the drain line was clogged.... I think i've fixed the problem, time will tell.

Fow tube to icemaker is freezing

Hello,

The reason all the ice freezes together and you see icecicles forming from the icemaker,is going to caused by the water inlet valve on the back of the refrig.is not fully closing but instead it's seeping water through it and dripping into the ice storage bucket. To stop that from happening the water inlet valve would need to be replaced.

On refrigerators that have a built in water filter, alot of times their will be 2 water valves and the one that is bad causing water to seep through it will be the one called the SECONDARY valve.

Icemaker is not working

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps , replace the water inlet valve . If it freezes and doesn't dump , replace the icemaker . Make sure the coils are clean of dust , lint , etc .. for refrig to be proper temp for icemaker to work (5 degrees) .

I ice maker keeps freezing in our side by side GE fridge.

This annoying problem can have a variety of causes. Check these four things first:
  1. Make sure the water supply is greater than 20 psi. If too low, thewater valve won’t seat properly and it’ll “weep.” Common causes of lowpressure are gunked-up saddle tap valves, kinked water supply line, andusing a reverse osmosis filter to supply water to the icemaker.
  2. Check between the valve diaphram and valve seat for sediment. If found, do not attempt to repair, buy a new valve.
  3. Check to see if the black, flexible portion of the fill tube iswrinkled, twisted, or kinked which can cause ice dams that block thefill tube.
  4. Find out if the water has been shut off while the icemaker has kepton cycling. This, too, can cause the fill tube to freeze up.
If all the above checks out and you’re still getting fill tube freeze-ups,then best get a service guy to take a look. It could be a complicated repair.

No ice on whirlpool refrigerator

Hello.

First of all you need make sure that your freezer is freezing enough. Sometimes everything will seem to be freezing ok, but it won’t be cold enough to make the icemaker work. The best way is to squeeze your ice cream, if you have any that is.

Then you need to make sure that the ice level sensing arm is in the down/on position.
If all of this checks out ok, then you need to make sure that nobody turned off the water supply that is sometimes located under the kitchen sink. Also make sure that the ice bucket is positioned properly so as to trigger the ice bucket sensing switch.

If all of this checks out ok, let me know and I can guide you through an icemaker diagnosis by forcing it into a harvest mode.

Ice maker stopped working

are the "fingers" of the icemaker pointed toward you and slightly up? if not the icemaker is internally broken . is the red light to the right blinking twice and then a one second pause? if not the emmitter is broken. is the black hose coming from the ceiling blocked with ice ? if so the water vave is broken allowing water to seep in hose and freeze. hope this helps.
