Fellowes 220-2 jam light won't turn off

Basket full sensor cleaned off. object in sensor cleaned off. motor works fine in reverse. shredder turns freely in reverse. It looks like nothing is stuck in the shredding teeth. When the unit is put back in the run mode, the paper jam light turns back on. what is the problem?

SOURCE: will not shred, but will go in reverse

Sorry don't mean to point out something obvious, but are you being shown any indication lights that the waste basket is not seated correctly in the bin or the head? If not, then you may want to try and check these connections anyway. Lights can burn out.

SOURCE: We have a CR220 fellowes

you can try cleaning the "bin- full" sensors. they are located on the inside of cabinet, on the bottom of the shredder "head". one will be to the left side of basket and one to the right. they kind of look like little glass eyes mounted inside of black rubber casings. paper dust on these will do this sometimes. if that doesn't do it then it sounds like your "bin-full" sensors are bad. a known problem with these shredders. fellowes has come out with modified sensors. if it was purchased within 2 years, it should still be under warranty.

How do I get top off to clear Paper Jam on Fellowes PS-12Cs

FELLOWES SHREDDER
In case of a paper jam , which may occur if the shredder is pushed beyond its specified capabilities, press the control switch to the off [O] position and empty the basket if full. Then:
1) Press and hold control switch in reverse [R] position and attempt to back paper out of shredder.
2) If shredder jams in reverse mode, press control switch to automatic [I] position and attempt to continue shredding operation.
3) If shredder jams again, alternate control switch slowly between reverse [R] and automatic [I] positions to attempt to move jammed paper completely through shredder.
If you are unable to clear the jam using this method, turn off and unplug the shredder; remove the wastebasket from cabinet and carefully remove any paper extending below the cutting cylinders; empty the wastebasket; insert wastebasket and repeat jam clearing procedure.

I jammed it with too much paper

Check the Power Ensure that the shredder top is firmly placed in the shredder basket if the unit will not operate. If the top is not in place the feeder will not work and accept any paper. Make sure it is firmly plugged into the wall outlet and that the outlet is active. Rest the Shredder Let the shredder cool down if the shredder has been running continuously for a long time. It may have overheated and needs to be left in the off position for at least 30 minutes to reset. Verify the basket is empty or not too full as that will cause the shredder to deactivate. Clear Paper Jam Rotate the shredder into "Auto" and reverse to loosen any paper jam that is stopping the gears. Pull out any papers that are sticking out from the shredder feeder. If there is no progress then unplug the shredder and remove the shredder top from the bin. Turn it upside down and use tweezers to free any paper that is blocking the gear. Auto Mode Not Working Select the "Auto" option and feed paper into the center of the feeder tray if the shredder is only working in reverse mode. The sensor is located in the middle of the feeder tray and could be blocked by jammed paper. Use an index card to firmly unblock any paper that could be blocking the sensor.

Machine says it's FULL, and won't shred, but it isn't/

there is a sensor that detects when the basket is full, if you remove the basket, look up for the sensor that would point down into the basket. it is probably dirty, clean off sensor.

hope this helps

Need a sensor switch for fellows powershred 220. Won't sense paper.

The top sensors may be bad or even the main board that they are connected to is bad. Try cleaning them with a lightly moistened swab or compressed air. Fellowes will sell you the parts.

Fellowes PS60C-2 shredder doesn't shred

there are two switches under the cutter area. 1 for sensing when your basket is full, (sometimes these bin-full flaps get stuck in the up position, energizing the switch) and the other is a switch that detects if your basket is installed. fellowes has modified these shredders so many times, that there are alot of different configurations. look for something that resembles a flap under the head and make sure its in the down position. as for the basket sensor, some baskets had 2 projections on the left and right top of basket. one may be broke. if so, you can "cheat" the switch with a screwdriver to see if thats the problem.
