The printer keeps printing pages of single line code even offline
After i ask my HP Deskjet 1100c printer to print an autocad drawing it fails to complete the job and then proceeds to print out numerous pages with a random single line of letters, numbers, characters, symbols etc. Even when disconnected from the PC it continually spits out the pages sometimes leaving random pages blank. The ink low warning light comes on or the paper jam light comes on. Ink levels appear ok as new cartridges have recently been installed. Any ideas?

when you hook up your printer to your pc via USB...can the computer detect your printer? does it prompt out any msg such as new device is installed and ready to use or did it ask you to install the printer driver? if your pc can't detect your printer, replace the USB cable and try again.. and try to plug into a different USB port on your pc.. and if all fails, then most probably your printer main board is faulty...
