do you know how to use volt ohm meter your problem can only be two places either your timer is bad or your wash motor is bad un plug the wire at the motor set meter to volts take the connector after the water fills have some one turn the timer for you slowly if you get proper volts on your meter then open the door plug the connector back on the motor if the motor starts then the timer motor is bad if the wash motor doesn't run then its bad if you don't get no volts the contacts in the timer are bad now some timer motors can be replaced with out having to replace the whole timer

sounds as if the pump motor has gone out. This motor pumps the water from the bottom of the dishwasher throughout the unit. The solenoid that i think your refering to is the solenoid that activates the drain pump. I would think the pump motor is either stuck and if you can get6 to the back of it you may be able to use a screw driver to spin the fin on the back of the motor to unfreeze it. If this doesnt work then the motor has gone out and will need to be replaced

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
This is a very common problem with these types of machines the water inlet valve has a solinoid for the hot and a solinoid for the cold that opens and closes the water on demand .
When they start to pulsate like this it is trying to close the valve but it cant this is normally due to the valve being clogged with debris or the valve is failing all together and simply needs to be replaced
So what i would do is first if you can look into the inlet valve with a flashlight and see ifit looks like it has stuff in it and if so clean it out and try it again if this doesnt work than you can assum that the valve will need to be replaced here is what the one of the valves should look like or close to it .

WHIRLPOOL ADG 6340 ix - At start and during the cycle water drains in pulses and for long time and water intake is in pulses and for long time. The cycle finishes OK but it takes long time, 30 min cycle...

since the water drain is on a float be sure there is no blockage of the screen drain area in the bottem of the dishwasher under the lower rack.the make some cleaner rinses to clean out the screen.

Whirlpool ADG 957 Dishwasher not draining water?

There is a remote possibility that the drain line is clogged. Most units should have an aerator on the top of the sink area HOWEVER some are hooked up directly into the garbage disposal and it's at that point where the line can be clogged. Remove the clamp and make sure the line is clear or the hole in the disposal is clear.

What flashing are you referring to ? This could very well be a fault code.
