I have the Phillips 30G GoGear mp3 and it was working perfectly fine last night then i went to use it today and it will go past the start up screen w/ "PHILLIPS" across the screen and "GoGear" but it freezes on the "loading" screen and will not go past it even when i restart it by holding Volume (+) and holding the power on/off at the same time. i had to leave it on untill the battery died because it wont let me turn it fully off and i tried charging it but it still says loading, also i plugged it into my computer and it STILL says loading. Please help me im very desperate lol..... thanks
-Eric
Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution. 1) Back up all files on the GoGear 2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) 3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button 4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard). -Tha Mp3 Doctor

I have a phillips go gear 8 MGB.numbers on inside of mp3 is 4901v3.68 and sstm12 080929 . I have tried reset & charging it but nothing will make it turn on. I spent alot of money on this thing for it to work a short period of time. What can I do???????????
well, when my phillips will not go past the go gear screen its got a little lock symbol, which means its locked which means you cant turn it on or plug it into a pc/laptop and if u do it wont do anything that could be your problem.
Hi . You Can Download Free MP3 From Youtube By This Site : video2mp3.net If you didn't found Your Favorite Music In Youtube Try These Sites : Beemp3.com or 4shared.com
You would most likely have to replace it, the software gets old and the battery will die. Most likely the battery is completly shot (maybe even leaking) which has caused it to stop working
disconnect it. Turn it off. Then while holding the menu button plus it back in. This will make the screen go white about the splash screens. Your computer will see the hard drive and the device will not sync. Remove all the media and the data files. Plug back in and I was good to go.
i just had a similar problem today when i tried to add a bunch of videos. i just let mine go to the gogear screen and then left it on while i went to work. when i came back and tried to restart it again, it worked fine. it just needed time to catch up i guess. hopefully the same thing will work for you. good luck
