Nikon AF lense by quantaray (35-90mm) plastic bayonet mount has snapped off. It appears that the broken ring can be replaced by removing 3 or 4 philips screws with a jewelers screw driver. Where can I get a replacement ring? Am I correct that this is as simple a repair as it seems??
Thanks Rick

I work for Ritz and just fixed this issue for a customer. The lens may not be fully seated into the mount and the contacts are not in alignment so there is no communication between the camera and the lens. Try turning the lens a bit more... gently... towards the locking position, you will here a click from the release button coming up all the way and the lens should start to work just fine.

Quantaray lenses are private label lenses made by Sigma for Ritz Camera. For service contact Ritz Cameras or your nearest large camera store. Most large camera stores have a repair department that should be able to supply the screw for your lens.

I bet they are not AF lenses. There are adapters that add the AF contacts to "fool" the camera but increase the zoom. You can get used lenses from many "on line" camera stores with warranties for a few months.
SOURCE: I was wondering, are all quantaray lenses
No. Quantaray makes a wide range of lenses, with a wide selection of mounts. This is because the various camera manufacturers like Canon, Nikon, and Pentax have proprietary mounts. A Quantaray lens for Canon will not fit on a Nikon, for example. You need to specify the mount when you buy your lens.
