Problem you have helped someone with before

Hello, I am having trouble with the convergence on my panasonic PT-65wx51in its blue convergence. I have read the whole problem on FixYa, and you said you had the "repair manual maybe for the television" Would you happen to have it in digital format?

Need to replace the convergence amps and any 2.2 ohm resistors in the return. That unit takes two STK392-110 Sanyo amps - but for greater reliability use STK392-150's and get them, from some place like ACME to be insured their not chineese knock-offs..

Have you checked the bias resistors for Exact Value. They normally change value when the stk's take a dive.

Convergence problem

If you cross reference this term, I think you'll find alot of helpful info on your problem:

Convergence amp ICs

These (there are probably two of them) are probably burned out, at least one of them. From what I see online in blogs and such, this repair can run several hundred dollars to have done professionally, but if you are qualified (or at least careful enough to learn how to do it SAFELY and CORRECTLY) you can do it youself for around $12 - $50, depending on what model part your set uses.

Hope this helps. I am about to embark on this same repair myself on my Panasonic PT47WX53G, so my best to you.

Blue line trouble

Hi Kracka,

Are you able to post a picture of the problem?

It sounds from your description that it might be a 'convergence' problem which is when the red, green and blue parts of the image aren't alligned properly.

Check in your menu to see if there is a convergence setting.

Hope this helps

Make sure your yoke plugs are clean and no cold solder joints around them. Let me know? Do you have a scope?

Which IC controls the blue convergence

Usually the second IC controls blue example if the two ICs are IC6001 and the other is IC602. 602 would usually control blue the first IC will almost always control red.

Yea, you have to have the two convergence Amp IC's replaced. Should run you about 300 bucks or so. Good Luck

PT-47WX53 blue convergence PROBLEM

Sounds like you have a blue foldover in the convergence. Since tv has been worked on it could be bad ic, maybe not original, generic. I would say if you can open set and look in, look for the blue it should be marked. look for a loose connection. If you can have someone to gently tap around that blue amp and see if it moves are go away, it might be a simple loose connection and needs soldering. If not then my have to change ic again. Becareful cause set would need to be on to really check. Hope this helps.

Convergence Problem

The convergence IC's have been known to cause similar problems and both would be replaced at the same time. Not an easy job for a DIYer. I would get a repair shop to fix it.
