Re: plasma tv GTW-P42M102
Sorry to tell you a common problem with these sets. It is a bad capacitor in the main power supply.. There are really about three of them that go bad from time to time to cause this problem... If your not a tech you should find an authorized repair facility as a non authorized is not going to know what to do to fix it and it will most likly cost you double to repair. Good luck and let us know how you got it fixed.

these particular tvs are very sensitive to voltage changes spikes etc.first turn off main power switch wait at least 30 sec if standby come on wait another 30 then turn off main power again and unplug tv for 1 min then plug in turn on main switch wait 30 sec then turn on tv with remote resets system.then buy a ups and always wait at least 30 min after turning tv off to turn back on if not causes power failure and after each press of power button wait 30 seconds before trying again lmk good luck
Its not a power supply issue, but an issue related to the D-board on your TV. There would be swollen/bulged capacitors on this board. To check this you'll need to remove the back panel of the TV. Check the connections to and from the D-board. Make sure the lamp
connections are fine and ballast is not burnt. Also check if all cooling fans are working. Note--
Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour
(this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before
you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages
even when it is in OFF condition.
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further
assistance. Thanks Rylee
Probably coused by bad elco's. You could repair this yourselve if you are able to use an oscilloscope. then just measure where there are spikes on top of the dc voltage. replace those capacitors with low types....
