JVC AV-27530 Sudden changes in brightness

Hi there, When I view an image that suddenly cuts from dark to very bright, the TV seems to "limit" the brightness after a split second and the once bright image becomes noticably less so. This can be fixed by drastically lowering the "picture" setting on the TV, but that muddies the rest of the images. Does this TV have some kind of superwhite limiter or something? Its very noticeable and quite annoying. Any help?

This sudden changes in brightness are caused by the change in voltage inside the tv,not in the outlet in the wall but inside the set,The changes are an indication something is going wrong and it needs to be corrected, the set does have a brightness limiter but it only works when the set wants to get brighter than normal,You need the assitance of a servicer to correct this problem.

Picture on tv JVC 27" AV-27530 is getting to dark to enjoy. During dark scenes you can't see much. Have tried adjusting controls and settings to no avail. Any solution greatly appreciated.

I have the AV-27S33 model and in the rear to the right of the inputs are two slits and inside these slits are two screws. The top screw is the focus, the bottom the brightness.Your tv is a different model but it may have this same adjustment,if it does try turning the bottom screw to the right to increase the brightness.

I have a JVC 27'' AV-27530 TV that the picture is very dark

An aging FBT if it still can be adjust using screen adjustment on FBT that will be a small tweak.

But if you are inexperienced with this, asked someone who knows how to do it to fix it for you.

Picture getting dark

My jvc 27" tv was so dark I could hardly see any night scenes, even with the bright all the way on. If you push the sleep button, let go, then hold down the video and display (together), the service menu will come on. Scroll down to #7 (too dark) and adjust the brightness there. Works immediately. Good luck.

**WORKS**

In my case, the adjustment was available from outside the TV. Sortof. On the rear of the TVabout 2 inches to the right of the coax in, there are two vertical slits on a little protrusion. Inside the slits are the two adjustment screws. The lower screw adjusts brightness, the upper screw adjusts focus.

Roger, if your contrast (sometimes called picture) and brightness controls are at max you can increase the tubes brightness by turning the "screen control" clockwise, be advised a little turn goes a long ways, don`t crank it too far or you will get retrace lines, you will have to remove the back from the set and follow the red wire down from the tube to the "flyback transformer" on the front of the flyback are 2 controls, focus and screen, do not move the focus control, this should fix your problem.

JVC AV 270305 Brightness not Bright enough.

Yes you could look for the capacitor that is leaky, probably in the 200v line, or you could just open back and turn up G2 screen control on the Flyback. You have Screen and Focus on this black transformer with a long anode lead going to the picture tube of set. Becareful, High Voltage!

Brightness (hellllpppp!)

To answer your question nothing is going to drop inside the set,I also need to tell you that a cleaning of the inside is not going to correct the problem, you should get at least the opinion of a servicer to determine if the set is repairable or not,an experianced techician should have a very good idea as soon as he sees the picture,if he sees the need to remove the back cover that will be a good time for you to see if it needs cleaning,Be safe and get an estimate.
