I was told by an on line company & an installer from Best Buy that the Pioneer TS-SWX310 would work in my 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, but once I took it to Best Buy to install, they couldn't get it to fit. Was the installer correct that this won't work or do I need to try elsewhere?
Of course it will fit if you make the hole a bit bigger ,get a proper old time fitter he will make it fit these youngsters are all quickness unit fitters ,no idea how to improvise
Right i see your problem here ,and all done by mail order i dont envy you here ,yes a good old fashioned chippy can no doubt modify it for you.i was under the impression it ws a radio silly me old and senile but take one note of advice from a old person like myself and thats not to bother as you are no doubt only giving some druggie their next fix ,leave the stock radio in and no fancy stuff then car is left alone ,also here in spain the new law is if the radio can be heard outside the car with the windows closed then its a nick with points on licence and a fine .But the worse one is when some druggie breaks a window and the inconvience it causes .I dont even bother to lock my car most of the time

I'm assuming that you have left the original wiring intact? If this is the case then it's a pretty simple thing to do. There should only be 2 cables one for each speaker & each cable will have a positive & negative polarity. Once you have securely fixed the speakers into place (usually screwing into place through the mounting holes provided) you just need to attach the wires to the speakers. If your car has manufacturers plugs on & don't match the speaker ones (quite often the case now) simply cut them off & replace with spade connectors of the right type/size. The most important thing is to get the polarity the same way round for both speakers! If you get them reversed you will NOT get any bass. Also remember with any new speakers they need time to run in & sound their best....so take it easy with the volume control for the first 20hrs or so of play if you want them to sound great & last longer!

If they have the same impedence (like 4 ohm) then you should be able to run two different model number speakers as if they were the same model number. There might be a slight difference in the way they sound, but I would not expect it to be enough to be noticeable. Good luck.

i did this with mine, hook more wire to the wire that holds the clamp , then solder it or wrap it around the terminals on the speakers

check your earth from the amp i had same prob and the vibration broke earth connection once secured it was fine

great qweastion it all depends on how many speakers you want to run of it dont make the mistake of just amping your subb amp every speaker in the car thats why amps have gains (vol controls) you can send as much power to witch ever speaker you want and less to what ever you dont like fading and balancing and hey you have gotta get some tweeters they make the world of diffrence but each speaker needs a channel so if you have 4 speakers a 4 channel amp and so on good luck with it have fun

I believe that I should have clarified that the loaded enclosure box won't fit behind the back seat, although I verified through the company & the installer before purchasing & they both said it would. Installer said I would have to get under the seat unit instead. I thought the slim & slanted design was made for tight areas like behind the back seat of the 2002 Chevy Avalanche. Now, I have to pay for return shipping & restocking fee, but I plan on taking it to a couple of other places in town to see if the enclosure could by chance be modified.
