Two screens and "pscan" issue

I recently moved and I am sure that I reconnected my DVD correctly. The player plays music normally. The problem is when I play movies/dvd's. The screen splits in two and the words "pscan" appear in the center of the tv. I don't know what to do. I remember seeing this before and can not find my handbook to help. I'd appreciate any help. It would be great to watch movies on the big screen again instead of at the computer. Thank you for your time. -Jen

Look on the back of the dvd player. It has a progressive scan switch. Switch it off. Now it should have one screen.

Hi,
I'm not sure what is model number of your VCR-DVD combo so providing you general info to turn off pscan.
Put disc in player, press play to have distorted picture then press stop button to stop playback.
Now press and hold Stop button on unit for 6 seconds that will turn off pscan mode.
Or let me know exact model number of your player to find out solution.

When i load a DVD, I get a split screen and a large PSCAN!

Probably fix it with the remote. Look up progressive scan in your manual, and turn it off.

The screen is split ! PSCAN

Take a look at the back of the dvd player there should be a switch that says Progressive scan on/off. Switch it to off. Problem solved !!!

Split screen with pscan warning on

I had the exact same problem and I consulted the manual. All you have to do is turn the PSCAN swtich off. It is located on the back of the dvd player. Then turn the dvd player back on and your problem should be fixed.

I cant get my dvd to run without the pscan split screen coming help.... follwed directions in manual it didnt work HELP memorex dvd player model#mvd2022

had the split screen with pscan triangle looked for the button on the back, no button but on the remote was a button named V.MODE pressed it and everything back to normal thanks for the help

i had the same problem. When i played a DVD on my Memorex player, a double screen displayed and a PSCAN message displayed in yellow. I simply toggled (switch) the PSCAN switch on the back of the DVD player. -Mike / Florida
