Paper Jam The printer will only feed the paper about half way out the top. Then jams. I have to pull the paper out the top and the piece under the toner. Then it does it again. I cannot use it.

There are sensors in the printer that report its position (the paper). The paper is timed to arrive and depart that sensor in a period o time. What can cause this to NOT occur is a couple of things.

Rollers are worn down
There is a small piece of paper that is hindering your paper from arriving or leaving that sensor.

My experience says the most likely cause is Roller wear.

Rollers are like car tires you lose the tread they dont work as good.

I am positive there is no paper jam with my printer (Z2420) but message of paper jam still appears and it won't let me clear it.

Sometimes a very small piece of paper can still be in the printer paper path after clearing a jam especially if the paper tears while removing the jam. The piece of paper may be too small to notice. Try blowing out the paper area with compressed air. Other causes could be the thickness of paper you are trying to print on, ie photo paper, thicker bond paper. Make sure the print settings match the paper thickness. I have a Lexmark laser printer, and I will get feed problems if the settings are not set for the correct paper type.

I hope this helps.

Paper feeds about half way and then stops. All of the indicator lights come on.

If you get a paper jam, the Paper Jam indicator light promptsyou to clear the paper path. If the paper has just started to feed from thepaper feeder when the jam occurs, pull the paper straight up out of the paper feeder. Open and close the printer cover toresume printing. If the paper jam occurs inside the printer, remove the paper from the output bin. Turn the printeroff, then on. If this doesn't clear the jam, open the printer cover.Remove the print cartridge and cover it.For additional assistance, please contactLexmark Technical Support

Paper jam???

Follow these steps :
1.1
Remove all paper from the trays. This will prevent further jams during the clearing.
2.2
Remove the covering to the printer's outer case to expose the jam. Locate the jammed paper to ensure there is not another problem causing the stall.
3.3
Pull gently on the jammed paper, taking care not to tear it. In most cases, this will remove the jam.
4.4
Press the flashing "Printer Jam" button. This will allow the rotors to turn and facilitate the release of the jam.
5.5
Turn off the printer and firmly pull on the jammed paper. Be careful not to tear it.
6.6
Remove remaining paper shreds. if a tear occurs, remove any residual paper that may hamper printing.
7.7
Refill the paper tray and try printing again. If the jam persists, repeat the process and search for more paper.

Paper jam cleared but paper wont feed

try 1. Turn off the printer. 2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper. 3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one. 4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge. 5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it. 6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam. 7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside. 8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on. 9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path. 10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved. alternative : Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

PAPER JAM:

OK, this is going to take a bit of nerve but it has worked every time (dozens) I have seen this problem. Switch off the printer and unplug, make sure the ink carriage is parked. Get a stiff piece of A4 card such as the backing from an A4 notepad. Place the card in the paper feed and push through quite firmly for the first half inch then open the scanner unit and watch the rollers inside the printer as you push it further. It should push out anything blocking the paper path. Push the card fully through in the direction of paper feed, never try to pull paper jams or anything else out backwards if it can at all be helped.

Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

Paper got stuck in Konica Milolta magicolor 2400w

I had the same problem and this worked, although it is not the answer to your question:

Take a standard manila file folder and cut it to the basic shape of a standard piece of paper. When you lift the top cover on the under side you will see a diagram on how to pull the paper out in the case of a paper jam. Feed you file folder up from the bottom and you will ~ with a little work, more than likely be able to clear the jam.

Hp psc 1315 paper jam

Hi,

. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or any metal tools inside the chassis.

2.
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.

3.
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

4.
Pull the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.

5.
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.

6.
Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to remove the print carriage to get to the jam.

7.
Replace all parts and return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

Paper feed

Your printer is politely asking you to please get a torch, and open the lid of unit and thoroughly check inside all over for a tiny jam of paper or something else. I am willing to bet you will find some jam. I would also switch it off, and wait a while before turning on and printing again. Good luck
