I am trying to setup Video Surveillance with a Swann DVR8-2550, using a NetComm 3G21WB Router ( obtained by Bigpond, and their support is appalling ) The Swann Manual states there is no need for Port Forwarding if the Router is UPnP enabled ( which it is), but that does not work. I am using No Ip service to overcome the problem with my Dynamic public IP. On my Router I enabled : FTP,HTTP on Port 80 to enable remote access to the Router and the following Services of which I have no Idea what they are for: ICMP, SNMP, SSH,TELNET and TFTP ( I tried the later enabled & disabled ) following ports are forwarded from external to Internal on my private IP 10.0.0.1 ( I entered that port as STATIC in my Router ) 18004 for mobile viewing 9000 for media and 85 as the Web Port (I changed the ports in the DVR accordingly ) The strange thing is that initially I had everything working ( Tested with my Iphone and CanYouSeeMe port checking...) Next day, without having changed any settings..the only thing still working is Port 80 ) My DDNS setup in the Swann DVR8 2550 worked OK as well with the NO-IP settings..Login..etc (pressing the test button )... Now I get a Time-Out message !( and the emailing function also no longer works from the Swann DVR ) After this happened I reset the Router to the Default values and started again , but no luck ! Thanks for your Thoughts on this

For gaming all you need to do is go to http://whatismyip.com your ip# will come up. Give it to your fellow gamers and they can join your game. As far as ports go, you need to find out what ports are used for your specific game. These can be found easily with a search, theres bound to be a forum or two that have this information available. Once you find out what they are, enter them into your port forwarding page. Making sure you apply your settings to 10.0.0.1.
