Question about Mitsubishi WS-55805 55" Rear Projection Television
My TV has a small black screen similar to PIP on one channel only, the Food Network, #110 on Dish Network. The black area covers about one forth of the screen and will disappear for a few seconds if I use any button on the remote. It appears on all Food Network DVD recordings and live broadcasts when played on the Mitsubishi HD1080 , but not on my other two TVs. This problem does not occur on any of the other 200 channels available to me. I have gone through all the PIP settings that I am aware of and it only stays gone for a few seconds. In the black area there is a string of numbers and letters that is constantly changing, like some kind of code. Any ideas what causes this? How do I make it go away for good?

What you do is match color with color, just make sure if you are putting in Video 1, 2, 3 etc. then you have to set your tv to that input with that Device/input button.

SOURCE: flashing Tv screen
Turned out to be a problem with my dish receiver. Found out by attaching a separate DVD unit to the TV, and it didn't flash. I then realized everything ran through the dish receiver. Called them, reset ( by unplugging for 90 seconds) and all was well.

Connect your component cables to the DTV connections.

SOURCE: can not turn off the vchip channel lock on hd 1080
hello try this
Bypassing the V-Chip Lock
After you set the lock, you need your
passcode to view a V-Chip locked program,
view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter
the V-Chip lock menus.
If you forget your passcode, you can
view the locked TV without entering your
passcode. This is done by pressing the
number 9 and QV buttons on the remote
TV control at the same time, when your
password is requested. This process
temporarily unlocks the TV.
When entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this
process deletes your old passcode and
prompts you to enter a new passcode. good luck

Mine just started doing the same thing 2 days ago. What did you do to fix it? Did you figure out where to buy a new board, if that's what you decided to do?
Since the ATSC digital standard was adopted, TV's are digital computers basically with giant display screens. If the problem only occurs with one channel, it means that your TV is fine. The problem lies with the header codes being broadcast by that particular channel. Write to your ISP, or cable provider, or the Food Channel and tell them to look at either their CC (closed caption) encoding that is sent between screen frames. Mitsubishi may have a firmware upgrade that will resolve the problem, depending on how old your TV set is.
