Question about Panasonic KV S2046C Path-Through Scanner
SOURCE: Red Light
This scanner has a paper detection sensor at the eject rollers where the paper comes out. Its a reflective device that can be fooled by paper dust buildup. Look in the gap where the paper is fed out, in the center you will find a little reflective patch facing up. Use a blower bulb or GENTLE puff of canned air, followed by a damp q-tip. There are similar sensors in the vertical transport that can give the same error. Don't overdo the canned air. It doesn't remove dust so much as just re-arrange it, usually to somewhere harder to reach. I don't keep it in my toolbox, and I do this for a living. Blower bulbs are much easier to control.

SOURCE: there is a red light error on the scanner and it
I found someone had placed a piece of tape on the cork where the scanner feeds in which was causing the sensor to believe parper was there. When I removed the tape the red light went off.

I have a message NO TARGET DEVICE ID: 3056. I cannot find any information about what this may mean, but I have a red light on the scanner that won't go away. I have a Panasonic KV-S2046C scanner.
The red light could be dirty sensors or just that the rollers need to be cleaned/replaced. the Panasonic User Utility wil gove a little more info about the problem: http://panasonic.co.jp/pcc/products/en/s...
