I have just received a Polar AXN 300 Watch which I bid for on Ebay. Apparently new.
However the display shows "Error 0". I cannot remove this, even taking the battery out and replacing it. Can anyone help me on this.
many thanks in advance
Here is the link to the user manual for your watch;
http://www.polarusa.com/manuals/AXN300.pdf
Check page 9 - you have to re-enter these basic settings after removing the battery, this may clear the error message although i was unable to confirm this from the manual.
contact polar on;
http://www.polarusa.com/default.asp
and you can find a service centre who can check your watch, all the necessary link software downloads etc.
Hope this helps :)
Throw the wretched thing away and buy another make. I've had mine repaired and exchanged 4 times and find the service centre here in France unhelpful, expensive and rude. I would not buy another Polar product again.

I had the same problem, the screen would be sharp when adjusting setttings after battery-replacemnet only to fade as soon as seconds after startup.
In my case the solution was to dissasemble the watch, use a toothpick or whatever to remove dirt from the copperplate lines (three long lines and one short line) that connect the hardware-part of the watch to the screen (the backside of the screen has lines that correspond to that of the copperplate lines on the frontside of the hardware-part).
You can go to a watch repair shop and have the crystal replaced but since it is a sport watch and has a good water resistance rating I would make sure that wherever you go can pressure test it to be sure it is resealed properly. Your best bet is to go directly through Polar for the repair or replace the watch depending on cost.
Check that the case back is on the right way. A spring sticking out of the watch mech needs to line up with a hole in the white sticker on the inside of the case back, I think this is the receiver aerial.
