Sizzling noise When I plug it in and try to turn it on I hear a sizzling noise for a few seconds and then it stops. Almost sounds like a cap charging but I can see no obvious damage.

Sounds like the High Voltage section is shot. Probably a bad flyback transformer. This is the component that has the high voltage lead coming out of it. There is no high voltage to the tube and no picture as well. The horizontal output transistor is usually a suspect here as well if its shorted. Hope this helps.

Sony google tv makes sizzling sound

Even after switch off, there can be some discharge of static charges present in and around TV, hot plastic parts can contract and make some noise. Some sets have the cooling fan run for a few seconds more to reach a particular temp, before it is turned off. Just try switching off the power outlet, and removing the plug and see.

Samsung HLP4663WX/XAA picture went out, started making strange noise, all lights on power button came on.

Sounds likea bad color wheel to me, or possibly a lamp has blown. If the noise is a humming sound--it is the CW--if you hear a "sound like a sizzle, for a few seconds and then normal, and this repeats a few times--the lamp has blown.

TV does not turn on model RCA D61W20B

first check all fuses they are small, square ,RED and can be confused with the square small caps. the sizzling is prob. the flyback transformer (what the h.v. wires from each tube plugs into) if you are only getting green then tv shuts down or is dead now. i would replace any bad fuses and replace the flyback transformer. also make sure you do a very good visual inspection of all the boards.

Turned on the tv, heard sizzling sound and it immediately shut itself off. Won't turn on now. It had been turning itself off periodically now and then for the last couple of weeks with no noise and then...

sounds like dust collected on the internal parts which after enough time can cause it to stop working. either have tv repair specialists replace the mother board, or replace tv
