Hi, the CD was working fine on Sunday in my 2004 Mazda6. On Monday it needed a code. Don't know why as battery never disconnected. Entered code but not accepted. Done this 3 times. Now I get an Err flashing message. Disconnected the battery for over 30mins and also the aerial in the hope it would reset itself but still getting the Err flashing. Any ideas on what has happened and how I can fix this as this is contrary to what should be happening according to the car manual on page 6-27?

Go to the dealership with your title, registration, and photo ID, and they can use the VIN number of the car to look it up.

Leave it SWITCHED ON...UNDISTURBED until it has automatically reset itself.

Make sure you have the correct code.

If not sure , about your code ,post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels, barcodes or stamped in the metal casing

SOURCE: Have Blaupunkt Cd changer attached

turn it on after turning on the motor ...and press the AS(or turn on cd player pressing this button on ) and hold to enter the code..or ..if you are already at that part the trick is that it has only 4 number buttons ..so each button is assigned to one digit in the code..
ex for the first digit ..press the number one as many times as the digit is ..
to type 2468 for example press no 1 for 2 times..the no 2 for 4 times ..and so on ..
each time you press a position it will be the number needed in that position ...
I hope I didnt made a mess with your senses....

SOURCE: The battery on our Ford

Radio code is specific for each and every car. It is specific like anti theft code. You can get it by providing your VIN# and registration details in authorized dealership. Nobody else can provide you. If anybody can provide you that , then there is no meaning of security for your car.

Yes, a car will keep running with the battery disconnected, although that is not a good idea with all the sensitive electronic circuits on cars today. You can fry something expensive quickly. It will keep running because all power to run everything is supplied by the alternator, not the battery.
Have the battery charged up again, and see what happens. I don't know why it went dead, unless you have a charging problem. Does the battery/alternator light go off after the car is started?

Turn the radio off then disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Reconnect the battery and turn on the radio, that my reset the radio for the Cd to be ejected. Good luck and hope this helps. MAKE SURE THE RADIO IS OFF BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. If the radio is left on you'll be prompted to enter a radio code.

After main battery replacement, the radio will not power up at al

Hi fasterboatma, Your computer stats are gone, the computer was reset when battery was disconnected, your radio is in theft mode, the radio is waiting on a code to be entered. The reason it does this is so if the radio was stolen it cant be used without the code. Look in your owners manual and see if the code is recorded there, if not call a local dealer and they can look it up, they will usually do it for free, if not you will have to take the front bezel off and see if you can see the code printed on the top of the radio. Let me know if I can assist further and please rate this solution. lone99star

Hi, My BOSE cd 6 changer was working fine on Sunday in my 2004 Mazda6. Yesterday however it wanted a code entering, which is odd because the battery has never been disconnected. I entered the correct 4...

The need to enter the code could be because of a brief loss of power to the unit, this could even be due to jump starting/ low battery power while starting or bad battery earth connection!

The err message is because you entered the wrong code more than once.......to get back to the screen to enter the correct code you will have to leave the power to the unit on for anything from half an hour to a few hours! But you will need to make sure you have the correct security code or you will block the radio and it can only be unlocked by an audio specialist and will probably cost more than the unit itself.

You can get the correct code for a small fee by contacting this link: Car radio codes in Uxbridge London Gumtree
