All I can suggest is if checked on all inputs try to take a good photo and post it online somewhere and send me the link------if good photos I may be able to tell you what kind of problem you have and what to do. It seems convergence issue may be ruled out.All I can suggest is if checked on all inputs try to take a good photo and post it online somewhere and send me the link------if good photos I may be able to tell you what kind of problem you have and what to do. There could be several reasons why your Sony VHS player is starting and then immediately stopping with a scrambled picture. Here are a few things you can try:
Check the VHS tape: It's possible that the VHS tape itself is damaged or dirty, causing the player to stop and the picture to become scrambled. Try cleaning the tape or using a different one to see if that solves the issue.
Clean the player: Over time, dust and dirt can accumulate inside the VHS player, which can cause it to malfunction. Try cleaning the player with a soft cloth and compressed air to remove any debris that may be causing the issue.
Check the connections: Make sure that all the cables are properly connected to the player and the TV. Sometimes loose or faulty connections can cause the player to stop working or display a scrambled picture.
Check the settings: Make sure that the player is set to the correct mode (VHS playback, for example) and that the tracking is set correctly. Adjusting the tracking can help to improve the picture quality and prevent it from becoming scrambled.
If none of these steps work, it's possible that the player may need to be repaired or replaced.
The picture scrambles because the video chip overheats and malfunctions. Open the case and do a full cleaning. If necessary add an extra fan - $10 at all IT shops.
Um...well when mine does that i unplug it and hold the power button for ten seconds and then plug it back in. Always works for me ;-) hope it works for u.
the redish hue usually mean that the camera doesn't have enough light to take a good quality pic. If daytime pictures taken outside still look the same take it back or get a new camera.
The problem could be in vertical blanking or video processor circuit. Also redish vertical lines may be from external RF or magnetic interference. Move set to new location away from appliances and speakers
This can be a fault in the tuner, IF, or primary part of the video processing. With age and use some of the parts, and especialy capacitors, in these sets can become thermo sensitive and unstable.
To service these types of faults can be very time consuming. On top of this would be the cost of the parts.
Considering the age and type of set that you have, I would suggest that it is time to be looking for a new set.
