I am getting the error that I need to depress the foot pedal. Have done this but it still shows and machine won't work. I unplugged it, plugged it back in and turned the machine back on but still having the problem What can I do to fix this?
Yep same thing .....the thing is possessed started running by itself when I was at the iron. Dealer said never heard of such a thing and acted like it was me. Also will not stop sewing when take foot off pedal. Dealer charged me $95 to clean machine and said nothing wrong with foot pedal. Ugh. Has anyone replaced foot pedal and found the problem to stop properly?
It could be that a part of the computer is messing up or it could be the foot pedal is going bad, the machine needs to be checked

I also have this problem with the pedal to my Janome Platinum 720. Took it to my dealer yesterday and the pedal is NOT under warranty and it costs $80 to replace. That is outrageous and I am trying to find another solution. They (Who??) are ripping us off. My machine is only year and half old and I only use it to take to classes. My Kenmore and Necchi machine pedals are still working after many many years of use.

sounds like a bad contact, try re-plugging it in several times, may be a bit corroded

this does indeed sound like the foot pedal. Unplugging it and reconnecting it will not fix it. This unit would need to be taken apart and checked out, and or replaced.

Need to check foot controller electrical continuity with multimeter.

The solution below indicates that their machine runs on it's own but mine don't. Just getting the foot pedal error as indicated
