Call your carrier and Get insurance on the phone if you haven't already and then the insurance should cover it. They will insure the phone as long as it's working and turned on.
Then, a few days/weeks down the road, if it get's worse or completely stops working, you will be able to get it replaced. At this point, you may even get a Touch Pro in exchange for it when you do the insurance swap. They do charge $50-$100 deductable usually, but that's better than purchasing an entirely new phone when that one is no longer usable.

By the way, I have two HTC Touch Pro and they both have issues. I think they are still trying to perfect these phones, but are far from it.
