The last thing watched was cable tv station.
then it was powered off.
a few hours later my son tried to turn on tv and nothing.
power supply is good to tv.
I noticed a light buzzing/whinning sound when tv is plugged in, and it goes away when unplugged.
It almost sounds like a very small electric motor running when it's plugged in

Re: tv wont turn on
The sound can be called screaming from the power supply,it senses a short and creates a frequency you can hear, the set has a problem and it needs to be repaired,I will check the horizontal out put transistor for a short, sometimes it goes bad without a reason and sometimes the high voltage transformer is also bad and both have to be replaced but first the transistor only if it goes bad again then you replaced the transformer too.Seek assistance from a servicer if you are not too familiar with tv service,it can be dangerous.

I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.
For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.
Thanks,
Dan
