When I turn on roady, it attempts to tune in whatever station is entered, then swithches to "antenna" message. never any other error message. do i need a new antenna?
According to XM technical service, yes. Just spent an hour on hold to be told "go and have another antenna installed" in my van to see if it will help. With the cost of the original installation and the fact that many of the channels that we enjoyed being removed from the air, the practical solution for my family is to pull the XM out of the car and get an iPod.According to XM technical service, yes. I've noticed this since the launch of the new stations. I thought it might be a short -- because I can still here the audio while the "ANTENNA" message is displayed.I've noticed this since the launch of the new stations. make sure aerial is in dvd recorder press functions move down to others press enter move down to setup and enter highlight tuning move right and down to auto setup reset and enter
tou will see a warning message move to yes and enter the dvd recorder will start tuning and a list of all the stations that been found will be displayed after that it will start to scan for analog stations( BEEN TURNED OFF) once finished
picture will be displayed
if no list was seen when tuning in digital stations then make sure dvd is digital
and to check aerial put direct in to didgtal tv and retune tv
one of 3 things, either your antenna is not insight of a skies view to receive the signal, or its wire is broken at the antenna, but if you remove the antenna connection frequently it pulls the center wire out of the connection on the end that fits into the radio when its plugged in push on the conductor at the back of the plug and see if this helps, alos if connection is loose take a safety pin and carefully between the outer plug case ans the ground fingers around the center pin push these in so you get a better ground, and lastly try another substitute antenna, I have re-soldered my connections numerous times to fix this issue, delphi doesn't make a very rugged product, good luck
check the antenna and see if its grounded out anywhere, like if its chaffed and grouned to the car somewhere. If not try turning on the unit outside of the car or using it in the home dock, if it does the same thing its a problem with your unit or car dock
when it reads antenna it means there something wrong with either the connection or the antenna itself, it could be the location of the antenna or the antenna is going bad. if there is no obstructions on the car blocking the antenna i would advise purchasing a new antenna. you can get one at http://shopdelphi.com/consumers/satradio/xpressrc/
Hi there check the back of the docking staion. The connection is LOOSE or try to make sure that you have not keep it in the sun for to long just let it cool down
i figured it out with help from a delphi service rep.! you need to go into the menu and reset to factory default.this will erase everything you have changed from the factory settings, but once done you can reprogram your settings and they will stay. step 1-enter menu step 2-reset factory default settings step 3-reprogram your preset stations,FM freq. colors etc. step 4-use power button on the roady to turn it off.once the roady shuts down turn it back on with the power button. step 4-now you should be able to turn the key off without erasing your presets.
I had the same problem, it says antenna when you turn it on. It seems that there is a small wire that stays in the radio side of the socket right in the middle of the socket. This fine wire breaks off . I think there is no known repair for this. I took a piece of fine wire from a wire brush, and poked it into the socket . Had to get one that was thick enough to stay. Then I plugged the antenna into it, it worked.
Basically, you just need to have the antenna unplugged when you power up, and push menu right away, then select. Not sure why, but it worked on all of my Roady XTs. On the oldest one I had to push menu more than once. Good luck!
